The idea of an alternate space where the speed of light is far faster than in real space is not new. Find and read John Stith’s Redshift Rendezvous. This story just takes the “subspace” trope literally, meaning you have to dive into it like a submarine. The idea of electronics not working in “subspace” is not new either though I can’t think of an example just now. Sorry you have so little experience with science fiction.

1st shot hit 1 dart then ricocheted into 2 others. Second shot from same gun took out remaining 2 darts in same fashion. 2 direct hits plus 3 ricochet hits.😂
