A lot of that Garfield stuff from that era was pretty well animated compared to other cartoons at the time. Part of it was the franchise power, but I think another part of it was the simple, yet appealing designs. Every other show had to animate detailed robots or humans, but Garfield artists got to animate a relatively simply designed bug-eyed cat. It's nice to look back on, especially after stuff like the live action movies, or "The Garfield Show", which was so cheaply animated that the characters would break the 4th wall to joke about it.

Ralph Wiggum: That is so 1991.

I'm gonna start my 1991 music round-up on the most boring, predictable note: Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana is my 1# song of 1991, as it is yours, as it is everyone else's. Big woop. Now for the hopefully more intersting part, that is the runners up, that predictably didn't pose much of a competition: Give it Away by Red Hot Chili Peppers, Something in the Way by Nirvana, Enter Sandman by Metallica, The Show Must Go on by Queen (in what will tragically go down as my only mention of my favourite band), Get Ready for This by 2 Unlimited, It Ain't Over Till it's Over by Lenny Kravitz, Wind of Change by Scorpions, Black or White by Michael Jackson, Into the Great Wide Open by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Mama Said Knock You Out by LL Cool J and Appetite for Destruction by NWA. Man, come to think of it, this is a better year than I had initially realised. Still nowhere near 1992 tho.

Disagree with TinyToons being a bad show. You clearly did not grow up on it. It was a next generation show by Steven Spielberg. You can’t go in expecting the Animaniacs though in the sense of adult humor. Also comparing it to the Simpsons is dumb as that was a way different show. It was a great after school show and a lot of people see it as the probably the best thing that Looney Tunes has made since the sixties. Also, judging the show after one episode is dumb as hell.
