That was really nice to watch. I've been meaning for years to go back and enjoy the Talyllyn Railway and finally actually take in the museum and take more than 1 trip up and down that lovely little railway. Like many I was a fond fan of the books at TV series. Many of my earliest memories were taking my first trip to the Talyllyn and meeting Peter Sam in Pendre sheds and in 1991 of reading the Three Railway Engines to my newly born little brother. I plan to create my own railway based on the area I grew up in, in Devon, as some of the roads feel much like they could have at one time been railways cutting through the valley that eventually meets up with the old Exeter to Barnstaple branchline at Bickleigh. I owe much of my childhood, my aspiration to one day be an author (Even wrote my own stories of the Skarloey for my Childcare course's write a childrens book module) and my love of trains to Awdry and his legacy.

Thomas, we love you. I once had the Hornby 00 gauge models of Thomas the Tank Engine and Percy the Small Engine, with Annie and Clarabel plus the Troublesome Trucks. They've since been replaced by the new Bachmann 00 gauge models, and Toby the Tram Engine and his carriage Henrietta have been added. I can't think of anyone who doesn't love these new models.

We used to live in the UK and took our children to the Talyllyn Railway several times and brought them up on the Thomas books. If we made a mistake on reading the stories we would be corrected as they knew them by heart. Thank you for putting this video on KZbin as we are all locked up in NZ due to Covid-19. @@MrNoUsername Sorry mate, but that just isn't true. I've always said "ruh-neigh-us", and I'm British. I know 4 or 5 other British fans who pronounce it the same. In this case, it's just the welsh accents making the "neigh" sound more like a "nee", I believe.

Wilbert has stated that Thomas is an E2 in the book "The Island of Sodor: It's People, History and Railways" - while the concept of an E2 Thomas did originate from Payne's illustrations, Wilbert embraced the idea and his third model of Thomas is infact an E2. The model shown in the video is from 1948 and is a Stewart Reidpath freelance tank engine kit, before Wilbert embraced Thomas as an E2 properly.

If he did, why would he write a story (Thomas Comes to Breakfast) that sends Thomas to the works to remove the dip in his running board, making him look less like an E2, and more like a Jinty or something? I say the Talyllyn Railway should extend upwards into the foot hills and the mountains where all the scenic views are at, the more track their is, the longer distances their are with station’s, and the more distances their are with station’s, the more their needs to be new engines. Maybe one day, their could be a transfer station between the Talyllyn railway and the Welsh Highland and Ffestiniog railway’s. I am thinking a little bit of the Mid Sodor Railway in the model show series because that Railway ran through the mountains. I like narrow gauge engines. I say their should be a small town situated around the Start of the Talyllyn Railway and the town will be named after the railway. The Town of Talyllyn and the Talyllyn Railway itself. It climes through the welsh mountains and at the very end, their will be a transfer station between the Welsh Highland railway and the Talyllyn.
