@@marker6814 it's quite a hard question to answer to be honest. I think that all the family have a very ambivalent approach to it in the fact they're proud of the world wide success that the series has achieved but don't necessarily approve of the direction it took at times and I'm sure the latest incarnation of Thomas must have their stomachs turning.

It might be a coincidence, but it does make me wonder if some of the Thomas and Friends characters(Both book and TV) were named after Awdry's family members. Like Elizabeth, Thomas, James, Edward, George, Emily,

There is also a Vintage Jar owned by the Awdry Family, featuring their last-name on it and The Richard III Society A History book by George Awdry.
