Thank you. I’m pleased it helped. It’s a good practical addition 😃

Is there an awning rail available that doesn’t require drilling into the van? Many thanks.
@tetley6806 ай бұрын
Sorry, but would rather see the fitting process, rather than looking at you rambling on about other mods you want to do to your nice van
@insomniasessions-pt2dz4 ай бұрын
Can it be used as a C-Rail? To hang recovery plates from the side of the van, like with an original California rail?
@StaycationLifestyle4 ай бұрын
Yes, is has the c rail also 👍🏼

Fab vlog, as always. Definitely R(e)imo. Meaning, in German, with ei and ie combination, the first letter can be treated as not there and pronounce the combo by the 2nd letter as you would in the English alphabet. In this case i is the only letter you actually hear. That aside, love your vlogs and good to see you're looking well!!

Firstly thank you for the last part of your comment, really does mean a lot 👍🏼 I’ve been saying it wrong for years then 🤣 Ah well. Will see if I can start changing how I say it

My tip, if a word has 'ei', as in the e first and the i second, say the i, not the e. If the word has 'ei' in it, as in the other way around, say the e not the i. Reimo = rimo Spiel = speel

Now you’ve had it a couple of weeks, is the front piece still stuck down ok, are you happy with it all? Thanks.

My Reimo awning tent is falling to pieces - guy rope straps torn off, poles falling to pieces (elastic gone, metal itself contorted), storm seams gone. Eugh. Its going to the tip - have gone for a stiches and steele tarp

That’s not like their stuff, how old is it. I wanted The S&S Tarp for ages, but never in stock. Put my name to be notified, kept checking back and not in. Along with the internal insulated windows covers. Never heard anything, for either. Typical now The Tarp and the 4 Carbon poles I wanted are in stock 🤷🏻♂️ Ah well

My vamose rail looks much the same and fitted just as well at half the price 😮
@StaycationLifestyle6 ай бұрын
Glad you’re happy with it, they do appear similar. Half price? Even the real cheap alternatives aren’t half price. You must have got a bargain 👍🏼
@MrBoardstupid3606 ай бұрын
@StaycationLifestyle the Vamoose is £100 cheaper and yes you have to bend it a little to fit the the vans contours but even I as a novice fitted in within an hour. The Reimo is just wasy overpriced and the staff at the Reimo stand at The Camper Show at the NEC last year were downright rude
@StaycationLifestyle6 ай бұрын
@@MrBoardstupid360 Vamoose is £185 and Reimo is £234 There are other brands cheaper that the Vamoose. Quality of materials, finish and features does vary between the different brands, but ultimately everyone will choose what suits them and their budget. Like there are many variances in other components or even brands of brands vans themselves

@@StaycationLifestyle that’s a good price for Reimo. I couldn’t find it for that cheap but my van is also a LWB so that ups the price a little. I definitely would not go with a cheaper multirail or the Stitches and Steel one. I sadly bought that then had to spend another £40 on the rubber end caps as it does not come with them so the rain would have just dripped through the passenger door when opened
@stevebennett67276 ай бұрын
My Stitches + Steel rail is absolutely awesome and a good few pounds cheaper 👌🏽😉

Did a video ages ago on the S&S stuff I bought. Didn’t do anymore as the stock was always out 🤣 Sold too quick

@@StaycationLifestyle I’ve never had a problem getting stuff from them 🤷🏻♂️👍🏼

Vamoose rail all the way. Their rails are made from high grade malleable aluminium which can be easily curved to any van , Ford,Merc,Vauxhall, Citroen etc Also can be used in conjunction with their Combi Brackets to mount a wind out awnings Drive away immediately no sticky tape required.
@StaycationLifestyle3 ай бұрын
@@ed29011 That’s great for a product that is universal. However regarding driving away immediately, what product is being used. You may want to check the spec sheet
@ed290113 ай бұрын
@@StaycationLifestyle 3m tape , however on the Vamoose end cap it is able to work correctly. On the Riemo there is an issue with the end cap pulling off the van . If you look at your own video you will notice they put sealant over the tpp of the 3m tape to attempt to combat this. This is why all the sticky tape is needed .
@ed290113 ай бұрын
That's why the Vamoose can be driven straight away
@StaycationLifestyle3 ай бұрын
@@ed29011 The tape is to allow the sealant to cure, as per the spec sheet of what is being used. 3m tape does cover the whole surface area and can cause lifting. How old is your rail and rubber? Any age related deterioration yet

@@StaycationLifestyle Hi. Don't understand the 2nd sentence in your reply. The Vamoose on my last camper was 7/8 years old and was still in great condition

It makes me cringe when i see nice decent vehicles have a C channel rail fixed (glued or screwed) to the vehicle body work, most van life vans/campervans have roof rails/bars/roof rack, why not install onto the roof bars a roof tube like plumbers or electricians use and fix the C channel to that, added bonus, the roof tube gives somewhere to store stuff, long stuff that's awkward to store inside the van, tent poles etc.
