For me, it depends on the song. This song is maybe a push between the 2 versions, the guitar being better in the Beatles version but the vocals being better here, except Fred at the end.

It's funny how well this song works for the B-52's... The interweaving vocal lines, the signature guitar theme, all very B-52ish. And of course some shouting vocals from Fred at the end. This is a very good cover!

And as others have pointed out; in Paperback Writer, there are just the two - G7 and C. Come to think of it, I'm struggling to think of any Beatle song where Paul plays a bass chord.
