The 47 and 51 are like brothers. Many say the 51 is better but it's truly preference. The 47 has a more pleasing, calmer, smoother sound. while the 51 has a bit bolder, modern, neutral sound. However I should mention the 47 mids are more forward than 51. GREAT review 👍🏾

I agree! I thought it was just a darker mic but you're right the mids are more forward and its buttery smooth. I like that the 51 is brighter and so smooth on the top end. Its that more modern "Pop" sound. They both sound dope and the build quality is so solid. I would choose either one depending on the vocalist and type of song. Thanks for watching! I appreciate it!!

T 47 is better than T 51. But I don't like any Telefunken mic since they are somewhat over boosted or lack one end or the other. Only Australia knows to manufacture best mics.

The Telefunken TF-47/TF-51 & AKG C-414 XLS are a GREAT combo for any collection.

Got a similar setup, TF47 going into a NEVE 511, Elysia Mpresser, Trident 80b and a DBX 520. I never use the silk option on the pre as it's just too much.

Thanks for watching! With the TF47 I can understand why you say that. The mids are pushed and the silk can add unwanted harmonics in that area. I actually dial it back a lot now. I have the Newton channel so I'm going to test out the blue silk with it.

Great pre selection; love this review! We use the Telefunken AR-51>Neve Genesys G32 all the time for female vox! I find the AR51 to be a little darker/then the TF47 but they're both AMAZING mics, I feel like at that point its all about the source and prefference! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

I had thoughts of the tf-29 for hip hop, but ppl say that it makes your voice a bit lower and may not be a good choice for that style of music.

I think it depends on what type of hip hop you're doing. I think the TF47 is more present due to the mid range being more forward and the TF29 is more neutral. If you're doing some Kendrick To Pimp a Butterfly type Vocals then go for the TF47 but Modern AutoTune style rap I would go with the TF51. The TF29 is less hyped and more natural so It can work for anything pretty much, just gotta EQ it right. Thanks for watching man.

Yes they have a special cable from the mic to the box then a regular xlr cable from the box to your interface or preamp or whatever

TF47 Vs WA47 What’s your take..!?

Sound wise they are both good. The wa47 is slightly darker a bit smoother and the tf47 mids are pushed forward a bit not harsh still smooth just more airy. The build quality seems to be better with the tf47 I had to return the wa47 because it had a weird buzzing sound. I’d go with the tf47. That’s the one I kept.

@@officialWWM I had that one and it was excellent, it had a darker sound that was really smooth. Loved it. The mids are pushed forward on the tf47. Unfortunately the wa47 had a weird buzzing noise. I got a Defective unit. I feel like you’re paying for quality with The TF47. It is built like a little tank

@@officialWWMlol warm audio comparison is laughable. You seem to care more about quantity over quality, so definitely hav fun Ruth that warm audio. For more experienced and quality driven folk, the internals, diaphragm and tube in the telefunken is superior. That’s like saying warm audio makes a Universal 1176 and saying that they sound identical lol
