Another welcome surprise after Cinderella Story. I like the movie. Quite a fun little experience. I liked Cole. Watch out for Amell's character in the sequel. He has become a fan favorite. My favorite character however was Bee. She's the best part imo. At 1st i didn't notice it. But Samara gives quite an interesting performance. Even if she's a cold blooded killer, she really likes Cole. Notice how she got serious as soon as Cole got involved. Before that she was almost relishing the killing. Even if she was trying to kill Cole, it does not look like her heart was in it. When Cole rejected the 'dying' ET sign she looked genuinely sad. Now someone might comment that its explained more in the sequel. But even without that she makes quite an interesting antagonist. Samara's great both while being sacrificed and doing the sacrifice.

Another great horror comedy that came out in 2017 is Mayhem. It stars Steven Yeun (who played Glenn in the Walking dead) and Samara (i don't know if you know it, but she's the niece of Hugo Weaving and she got a break in the horror genre as an ill fated hiker in the horror comedy serie Ash vs Evil dead season 1 in 2015). Basically it's about a virus realesed in the building of a big company which turns people into crazed hyper violent thugs. A disgruntled worker and a client who came to ask a loan (and was rejected) start to climb up the floors to get what they want, meeting hordes of workers turned murderous freaks by the virus. Imagine the movie The Raid meets 28 days later (or the excellent spanish: [rec]), but injected with humor a la Ready or not or The Babysitter. As Always, Samara is awesome, she making a name for herself in the horror genre and deservedly so.
