The Back Story of Selling our Home

If you don't like talking videos, this one is not for you. This video features a bunch of raw footage and raw emotions, capturing our decision to sell our home and move. There was a little more to the story that we just didn't fully touch on dealing with regret and depression. The time we spent in this home was a difficult one for us on a very personal level. We're just happy that it's in the past. Our home sold for $139,900.
We are a DIY family trying to build a better life. We like to share projects and regular life updates. Our goals are to create a happy home, live healthy, develop our life skills, and see where our life leads us.

Those buyers are really fortunate. They are getting an ultra-clean, well-built/renovated, warm home and land area. No junk lying around, no old poop from animals, no left-over financial problems, the whole home and out-buildings fully functional. Not everyone gets that. I hope they know how lucky they are

What impresses me the most in your decision to move is how committed you were to that house. Every project you did was thoroughly planned and completed like a forever home. Even when you redid your headboard/side tables. They looked fine the first time, but you weren’t satisfied and redid them. Every house you leave behind is a beauty. Total respect for your efforts.

Animals are huge responsibilities so I just figured with home schooling and running a KZbin channel it was just overwhelming. Also, donkeys seem more pressure than a dog. And they're not into dog responsibilities so I didn't think anything about giving the donkey or chickens away. IMO they had too many chickens for such a small family. But I never thought they were leaving especially when they fixed that extravagant play room with astro turf in the barn area.

I've lived in Wisconsin my whole life and can't imagine living anywhere else. I can understand that it's not for everyone, but there is something special about putting on your warmest clothing on the coldest (calm wind) day of the year and walking around in the snowy woods, with nothing to warm you but your own body heat.

You really are diyfferent! I can’t imagine very many people being patient enough to keep a secret for so long and film the process like this. Bravo! This was a cool way to do it. I am continually amazed at your passion for anonymity, yet you have put yourself out to the world. Funny! The price you sold your property for is astounding to me. That property would be worth 2 million here in SW Idaho, without a house! But it would be hard to get a loan for it with a manufactured home, for sure. Those people who bought it are extremely lucky to get it with all the excellent work you put into it. I’m excited for your new adventure!

IMO you're smart enough to choose a lifestyle that many never dream of doing. You're able to try out different states and dwellings to live in AND you have 2 kids!! Very impressive parenting and business experiences. I think you're very balanced and advanced to do what you want. I don't see the problem with "flipping" every 3 to 5 years. Kentucky is wonderful! We moved here from NJ. I have found the winters milder than NJ and even the summers are milder than NJ. I feel it is an ideal location for me. Unfortunately, property here is going quickly and high as well. We got ours just before real estate went crazy.

Thanks for this amazing behind the scenes look! You may have found your own Florida sweet spot, as I finally did! I moved to West Palm Beach from Upstate New York in 1973, got pulled by life a couple moves further up Florida's east side, and now have been in Florida's Lake District in my forever home on a sandhill in an old oak woods for over 25 years. You may still need to tweak things a bit to find just the right part of Florida for you...only tme will tell...but I wish you both an interesting and satisfying journey and ultimately the comfort and quiet joy of feeling deeply at home! I sold a manufactured home last year and just like you and Ashley It was a whirl wind. I went from a laid back calm life style to HIGH anxiety. I had plenty of 'paper bag' moments. I teared up when you expressed your anxiety. I felt that. You all handled it so well. So smart. My daughter and I also drove cross country with my car in tow. And, just like you and your family, am in a great place now. Took a month to find the buyer and a month to close. Thank you so much for thinking about us and quietly recording it all. And it was so clever and thoughtful. One year from now you will look back and really know you made the right decision. My admiration and respect to you, Ashley, Belle and Maverick. What a team!

Thank you for sharing this video & thinking ahead to create it. Your families wants & needs come first. Your mental & physical health are most important. If you live somewhere, and it doesn't feel like "home" then it's time to move. Try a new place. There is no rule that says you must stay. I'm so happy you have finally made it to Florida, bcuz that's where you wanted to be. If this area of Florida isn't right, move to a new area. Life is too short to not be happy! Congratulations on your 1st Florida home.
