This looks less like it's endless and more like it sends you to a different room with a different slide. A true "infinite slide" would be much better. Not only is it claustrophobic but you're also sliding at high speed to a destination that you'll never reach (infinity). You wouldn't even be able to come back if you went down a lot, since climbing it back to where you started would be so much slower and require a lot of energy. It would even be futile to ever try to leave the slide, as you'll eventually get exhausted from climbing and all your progress will mean nothing as your tired body slides back down to where you were in an instant. Only way out of it is not going down, or being athletic or close enough to the start to climb back.

once you get in i imagine you would look back and see darkness of the slide like in a sense that its truly infinite once entered, like how a game renders in when you get closer, that way its really infinite and theres no real way out that way its not just infinite forward but back to the start as well but it doesnt get closed off, it's still there for anyone who sees it and goes in the imagery is crazy

Okay, I have a thought, largely in response to people saying that a _truly_ endless slide would have been scarier: What if this slide in particular usually _is_ a Truly Endless Slide, and only becomes a "Return-To-Start Slide" when a living person is trapped inside it already, like a pitcher plant closing its lid to slowly digest its prey alive...? 🤔

Within a few years, people start colonies, and the slide just so happens to be in the colony base. The colonies carve into the slide, and now the slide acts as a quick travel to different levels in the backrooms. Idea: when you go through the slide, you get a very small urge/itch to go through the slide again. This urge very slowly, but consistently, grows stronger the longer you don't go through the slide. Over many weeks it eventually reaches levels where you even prioritize going through the slide over self-preservation. If you've wandered through the backrooms for too long after going through the slide you'll die from sheer overexertion from sprinting through corridors trying to find the slide again. Once you go through the slide again the urge dies back down to nearly unnoticeable levels, afters which it slowly starts growing again. You can survive for longer if someone ties you down and keeps you alive, but even then the urge eventually grows strong enough to prevent your brain from falling asleep, causing you to die from the symptoms of long-term sleep deprivation (neurological problems, heart issues, blood pressure).
@nikis3562 жыл бұрын
Thats really cool dude
@bacon-wrappedrainbows75652 жыл бұрын
I love that idea! Similar but alternatively, if you only ride it once, it gives you the slight but definitely ignorable urge to ride again. However, every time you ride it, it builds and builds until it gets to the levels you mentioned. So if you have the mental fortitude to only ride it once or twice, you’re probably set. But the more you ride it, the worse it becomes until it’s inescapable

You question whether or not the curiosity is worth the risk. You figure "Ah, what the hell. Atleast I'll be having fun in the process". So you take the chance and dive head-first into the slide, laughing and giggling in the process. You think, "How could this be bad?" But shortly afterwards you begin to feel the walls of the slide squeeze more and more with each minute that passes. Anxiety and panic begins to set in... Several more minutes go by and your starting to get friction burns on arms and legs. Panic and stress is intense as you feel more claustrophobic than ever. Moments later, you come to a complete stop. Stuck head-first in a tightly enclosed tunnel. You try to move but the friction burns sting as they stick to the walls. You abandon all hope and suffer the last days of your life stuck upside down in an endless tunnel with no source of light. The end...

At least when you realized it's going to be endless after for a while, there is still a hope to climb back up if the slide is not slippery. It may take a long time to get out from the tube but not forever.

i had a dream many years ago that i was in a cinema lobby walking to the screen. how you'd enter would be to go down this really small slide, but it was very long and carpeted - i got stuck and couldnt see either end nor manoeuvre. watching this took me straight back to a dream i havent thought of since it happened. extra info - the cinema was in a big brother house for some reason, from the uk reality series that was big at the time that i had the dream. thats about everything i can remember.

K so imagine this, it’s an actual endless slide, but with a twist. The slide is only infinite, in the sense that it goes on forever, but not that the place outside it is the void. Within a few years, people start colonies, and the slide just so happens to be in the colony base. The colonies carve into the slide, and now the slide acts as a quick travel to different levels in the backrooms. Every level with a colony has a part of the endless slide inside it carved out, and at some point, you come out the other side of the slide, only for the starting point to be right infront if you.

I like how tons of people are saying its more terrifying if it were an endless slide bc "it would be going on forever and you would never see the bottom" or whatever else it boils down to. But those people fail to understand that the terror comes from the uncertainty of truly knowing if its endless or not. To boil it down, once you're sliding for eternity, that's it: sliding for eternity and while it IS terrifying, you KNOW what's going to keep happening. But THIS. THIS is different. THIS is not knowing for sure if you're in a loop or if its just another room. THIS comes with the spine chilling anxiety of "holy shit no no no, I can't be stuck in this loop forever". THIS comes with terrifying psychological helplessness, feeling as if you're now suck in this situation forever but not knowing if that's truly the case or if there's a real end to the similar looking slide rooms. It comes with the anxiety you'd get out of giving up and staying in place, not knowing if the next room is really the last one or if it *is* never ending. It comes with the fear of "if i *do* just stay put, would something eventually come for me out of one of the hallways in the room? Would there be something waiting below, or even above if i tried to crawl back out?" The fear comes from the uncertainty of nearly infinite anxiety inducing options and consequences based on your OWN decision to go down the first slide, not the helplessness of something as cheap as "falling forever"

This reminded me of that old popular joke. A genie tells three men that if they go down his slide and scream what they want most in the world, they will land in a pool of it. The first guy goes down. He screams ''MONEEEY!'' and lands in a pool of $100 notes. The second guy goes down. He screams ''DRUUUUGS'' and lands in a pool of cocaine. The last guy goes down. ''WEEEEEEEEE!'' He screams.

@xavierharvey49612 жыл бұрын
See I had ideas of time paradox theories for the backrooms, where time dilation alters the amount of time you been in certain backrooms. For example, being in level 0 has the most stable time balance, whilst sub levels could actually be composed of enhanced time deceleration where you feel like you been in a level forever and found your way out, only for your friend to say you was gone for only 2 mins.. but this is super cool as well man.. it's like finding glitches that leave you in an Infinite loop if u unfortunately get yourself trapped in one. Since this place is a glitch in itself it makes sense for something like this to be a possibility. It's like traversing the backrooms requires certain mental notes when your aimlessly wandering.. and it's mostly to not go into dark areas or places that have scribbles and warnings written on the walls. But most importantly is to stay on your lv.. don't rise or fall from your current platform or level because that could possibly take you closer or very very far from the exit path.. awsome video man really enjoyed it.
