I used to wonder why these animation bloopers were happening but now that I work in the industry and I use the same program that Clone Wars and The Bad Batch were animated in, I finally understand the struggle.

What kinds of quirks does the software have that lets these errors slip through? Is it too easy to get character models mixed up? Is the animation done out of order by different people in a way that makes it hard to be 100% cohesive between every shot? Or is it something more software-specific?

@@metroidnerd9001 There are a number of reasons why these bloopers might be happening. I don't work for Lucasfilm so their pipeline might be different but if I were to guess, it's probably a combination of these: 1. It's common for multiple people to work on a single shot. A layout artist will often do the initial movements and blocking before an animator comes in and finishes it. 2. It's also common for animators to work on shots out of order, and/or the shots they're assigned might not be consecutive. For example, in the short film I'm currently working on, I'm assigned shots 3, 7, 9, and 11. So since none of them are next to each other, I have to coordinate with the guys that have the shots surrounding mine. We're a small team and it's already hard, so I can imagine that it would be really difficult for a team as large as Lucasfilm to manage without at least a couple of mistakes. 3. If they have different files for different shots, which they probably do, it's hard to get characters into the exact same position in both files, which could explain why some characters teleport randomly. 4. You can hide geometry to see what's underneath. It's possible that somebody turned off certain armor pieces so that they could see what they're animating more easily, but they forgot to turn it back on. That's probably why Rex and Echo's kamas keep disappearing, since they run a lot and the animators need to see their knee controls to make their legs move correctly. 5. I'm fairly sure that the disparity with Rex's hair is just a lighting or texturing error. 6. Depending on how the character models are labeled, they could get easily mixed up, especially if the difference is not immediately obvious like with Echo's bandage. @@amzokadamagic8819 Thanks for the info, this makes a lot of sense. I knew animation was a very involved process, but this helps put it into perspective how all the moving parts can get mixed up. That the errors we do end up seeing in the show are so minor is a testament to their skills.

You know in season 1, when they're on Saleucami, and trying to escape the planet. There's a shot where the crew is infront of a ship, (I think they're taking cover maybe) and they all dissappear for a single frame.

Sorry it’s 9 months later [im trying to get out of the habit of lurking and actually contributing to the comments] but now I have a picture of that in my head and now I’m depressed again. There's also a scene in the episode Commander Wolffe is in, where he reaches for his holster, pulls out his pistol and it disappears in his hand, causing him to have his finger over the trigger and his hand wrapped around the grip of an invisible blaster. It's early in his arrival where they're still in the temple.

Yes and later in that same episode Echo puts a blaster in his holster only for it to disappear immediately leaving the holster empty

Another blooper can be found in one of the episodes of the last season, The Bad Batch and Rex met up with the other rogue clones and when Wolffe showed up he was walking and went to draw his dc-17 and there was no gun model, then the next scene he has it in his hand.

#1 - Wasn't that exactly what they were looking for? Another blooper is at the end of episode 9. When Wrecker reaches down for Omega he has his backpack on, then when he lifts her up ("Ah, good to have you back, kid") the backpack's gone.

Yo, Gems of the GAR, idk if you clip live-action stuff, but I think this would make a pretty funny video: Dave Filoni saying that Star Wars should give people a good feeling (man, now I don't remember where he said that), and then clip all of the death from TCW. Hevy, 99, Echo (I know he survives, but we didn't know that at the time), Hardcase, Waxer, the Jedi that went with Obi-Wan to fight Maul and Savage and got killed (her name escapes me), Tup, Fives, Ima-Gun-Di and captain Kili, Satine's death, captain Vaughn, the graves of Jesse and the rest of the 332nd, Ahsoka leaving the order, The destruction of the Tipoca City, and the death of Kanan in Rebels

With #2, I got the impression a bit of time past. Rex said "keep in touch"... in response to Hunter asking what they should do about their chips, implying Rex did not know about the venator on Bracca until after their meeting, and then Rex contacted them a rendezvous point!! Therefore it's safe to assume he cut his hair b/t Ord Mantell and Bracca (yes i'm overanalyzing this... i don't think anyones walking away genuinely disgraced and/or offended at anything) Side note: did you know in the Citadel Rescue, Ahsoka's lightsaber is blue when boarding the gunship!!! After CW S7 that's just kinda funny to me

So, in cannon, does the king of kamamation errors have a Kama or not? cause he’s really 50/50 when it comes to that. Also I was watching that imposter clone was episode and I think it was the absolute winner for most animation errors in a CW episode.

I’d say the King of Kamanimation Errors canonically doesn’t have a kama in Season 7 or the Bad Batch (Rex was hiding under a cloak for 33% of the time he was in TBB). But for the rest of the time, yeah, I’d say he mostly, canonically has a kama.
