The Bad Batch Episode 13 Breakdown I LOST MY MIND

as we enter the cantina, Omega and Phee are making a deal with some masked sellers over a porcellain looking sculpture. When the deal goes bad and phee gets threatened with a kuhaan, which is the same slug like poisonous insect we saw zam wessell send to padme’s room in attack of the clones, Hunter throws his knife and saves her. A big brawl breaks out with the bad batch against the masked scammers. They fire up the ship and get out of there. Phee says that Omega needs to be a kid and hang out with other normal kids, as the crew get a transmission from Cid. She says it’s been 20 days without them working for her, and she threatens them by essentially saying she knows everything about them and that she’ll reveal them to the empire or other bounty hunters…like boba fett for example who she could hire to get the bad batch.
They head to space hawaii Pabu, where they pretty much just have a nice time, eating and socializing, The mayor of pabu offers them a place to live and start a new life. We get space sushi and some other types of foods and fruits. Omega makes a new friend and they sail off into the ocean, the sunset reminding me of maui. As things are seeming really calm and relaxing, a tsunami hits and the bad batch work with the mayor to save as many people as they can. No lives were lost, and they ask the mayor if they can stay on the planet for a while.
The episode may not have had any action or much going on, but there are a few very important and life changing things for the bad batch
The first being they grew some…well..you know and told Cid off. The second is, they now have a place to hand their hat. They have an HQ if things go bad, a place where people won’t try to turn them into the empire or be looking for them like every major city. These people just want to live in peace and I think going forwards the bad batch will just hang out here for a bit…until…Crosshair is either in need of their help and they get wind of it, or, Crosshair is reprogrammed using the mind flayer machine and he comes looking for them with the help of Cid ousting them.
Either way, it’s not going to be good for them. I think Omega will eventually be brought in to Mount Tantiss where all the experiments are being done, and she’ll see Crosshair as well. I think there will be a point where Omega perhaps stops seeing all the good in people once she trusts the wrong person for the last time and it gets her brothers in trouble.

Any episode where Sid is in the rear view mirror, is going to be one of my favorite episodes. One of the better moments, and even though he was merely stating another fact, was when Tech commented how he hadn't seen Omega laugh that way in quite some time. My favorite part of the episode was Hunter, when he noticed those creatures bailing and he said, "Something's coming". He is so badass.

I'm apprehensive about AZ. They just left him behind, a droid who helped Fives and saved the Bad Batch to escape the destruction of Tipoca city. Omega almost drowned to save him, and Crosshair went out of his way to save them both, with his brothers holding him at gunpoint immediately after. It's irritating they never kept him on the ship; I'm sure Cid can use him to track the Bad Batch down. They'll be much valuable intel inside him. I hope they address this issue next time.

I liked it as well because last episode Crosshair does some soul searching and realized where he shouldn’t be, and the Bad Batch do a little soul searching and realize where they shouldn’t be as well. I wouldn’t want a lot of episodes like this, but the rare occasion where the threat in Star Wars is just purely an environmental hazard and you’re on the ground with the characters facing something so seemingly mundane yet that is equally as dangerous as a ship or weapon. I just liked it man, wasn’t my favorite but it certainly wasn’t bad.

I actually really liked both Mando and BB this week. Sure they weren’t the most exciting over the top but so many cool moments. Mando, I loved seeing Corusaunt especially thought it was cool seeing the mountain peek of the planet itself. And on BB the scene of the landscapes of the sunset over the water and the island! My theory is that a full blown betrayal out right by Sid wouldn’t be in the cards. The Empire will learn of Sid’s affiliation with the Bad Batch via someone getting captured (maybe Phebe’s) or someone talking like Sid’s old pal who she almost lost her freedom to during the pod race. Now, Sid will talk. It’s inevitable but she’ll be the right amount of scared of the Empire and feeling slighted by the Bad Batch for not working with her anymore. Granted, she’ll be having second thoughts on it but the fear and anger will get the better of her in the beginning. For the consequences of the Bad Batch or Omega being found, it might endanger the denizens of Pabu with Imperial retaliation. Though the squad could be separated off world as they look for supplies or resources to help the people of Pabu rebuild. As for Crosshair’s involvement in the next three episodes, it’s likely he’ll be experimented on and tested for some purpose likely linked to the clone genetics. -He could end up just an project/experiment under constant watch and pressure. -He could be reassigned to a newly formed Delta Squad under Scorch’s command (as we’ve seen him commanding both TK troopers, Clones, and Clone Commandos). -The third possibility lies with him being a trainer/instructor for a new soldier program (likely linked to DEATH or DARK troopers) and he’ll be the template for them. I would like to mention that Omega has become a big priority for Doctor Hemlock who is eager to learn more about her and her genetics. It’s obvious that he is intent on using her for some grand scheme/project. Still, he must first send someone else to acquire the “specimen”, in question. -Either a bounty hunter like Fennec Shan or Car Bane will take on a contract for her again - maybe boba fett will intervene on the bounty? -Maybe Scorch’s battalion sent to Pabu (Maybe Crosshair will be assigned to it) -Delta Squad maybe sent to Pabu (Scorch as CO and Crosshair as his 2nd in command) It’s all just theory and hypothesis until we know for sure next week.

I loved this one, there wasn’t much of the quirky kind of Mary sue behavior from Omega that people have been a little frustrated with lately, and provided a nice change of pace/scenery we don’t get to see in Star Wars very often (such as settling down, and lush beautiful scenery that’s not been war torn in some way shape or form). I think it would be awesome if we made a time skip here by at least a year - give the empire time to fully transform and by then Omega will be ready to complete her ‘ahsoka’ arc which they’re no doubt planning on doing.

Can't wait for the next episode where they will be learning how to surf. The conflict will be about some antagonist surfer that called Tech a nerd. They will need to settle their beef on the waves in the upcoming surf tournament. This is the Star Wars that I have been waiting for!
