We kind of saw Puss in Boot’s backstory in his first movie where he was found as a kitten by orphanage caretaker Imelda and raised in her orphanage and became friends with Humpty Dumpty and how he got his boots and love for adventure. We have heard about the Bad Guy’s backstory and how society treated them horribly, however we never actually saw what the Bad Guy’s backstory was where we could see them all as kids and how they might have been bullied and made fun of for being what they are instead of who they are before they were feared for their adult selves. If any movie needs a prequel it should be the Bad Guys, we never got to see their childhoods or what their life was like growing up or when they met each other and became friends, maybe we could even see their very first heist or all of the heists before the safe in the original movie. It could even reveal more details of why they became the Bad Guys before the events of the original movie. Or we could see Diane Foxington as the Crimson Paw when she was doing all of her heists before she ran for Governor of whatever city the Bad Guys takes place in. From her childhood to her growing up and stealing all of the things and being called the Crimson Paw all the way up to almost stealing the Golden Dolphin and then running for Governor election.

And in her new position, she's been working to bring down her former employers for a long time now. And she's been looking for secrets about her past. With The Bad Guys aiding her, she could be a step closer to discovering something vital about her life.

For me, the last wish blew it out of the park. It was so much better than I expected, even with all the positive reviews coming in... Gotta say though, I'm not a fan of heist movies in general. I saw the bad guys by chance on an airplane journey and thoroughly enjoyed the animation and characters. It didn't stick with me at all, though. It was fun, it kept me entertained, it was over, I watched the next movie. The last wish, however, honestly moved and shook me. It's all down to personal taste in the end, but there's a clear winner for me. And I cannot wait for what dreamworks does next.

Like how you make the match: 1- The story / the themes: I make this two points in the same because they are a little bit similar in that point. And I prefer on this point PIB 2 TLW because The Bad Guys make an fun and discontacting story, so it s a little bit more predictable than Puss in Boots because that movie is more dark and serious, and even I like the story of The Bad Guys a lot, I still prefer Puss. 2- The main character: Mr. Wolf vs Puss. This is an hard choice, because I love both, I love Mr. Wolf because of his developpement, and Puss too, for the same reasons. But I will vote Puss because I loved him before. 3- The comic relief: Perrito vs... everything in The Bad Guys. Perrito is such a lovable character, he s cute, he s optimistic, and some fun jokes especially in the "Stolas Moments" (when he is censor because he s vulgar). But The Bad Guys is a pure comidic movie where everything is a comic relief. So I make the victory to The Bad Guys in this point. 4- The secondary characters: Shark, Piranha and Tarantula vs Kitty Softpaws and Perrito (yes, another time). This is just impossible to say who is my favorite, they are both fun and cool. Equality for this one. 5- The antagonists: Puss in Boots 2 easy wins, Marmelade still a good villain, but he still classic, and twists villains are too much cliche because Disney make them sooo many time. Jack Horner is a very fun villain, but he still classic, and the reason why I make the victory for PIB 2 is Death, this is litterally my new favorite Dreamworks villain and he close my top 3 animated villain of all times in equality with Scar and my absolute favorite villain is Frollo from the Haunchback. But Death is just a perfect villain. 6- The big and great surprise: Diane Foxington vs Goldilocks and the 3 bears. My god Glodilocks is soooo cool, like the 3 bears, this family is so cute, but thats hurts me so much, my ass suffer, but I defeat them because Diane Foxington is the perfect "woman", and even for greats characters like Goldilocks and the 3 bears, this is just impossible to defeat Diane, she is just the perfection of the Bad Guys. 7- The soundtrack: Equality, the 2 soundstrack are great. 8- The original song: Good Tonight vs Fearless Hero: Fearless Hero is such a great and catchy song, no problem, but that f*cking song is a torture to have this 2 FUCKING DAYS STUCK IN MY HEAD WITHOUT INTERRUPTION! 2 FUCKING NIGHT WITHOUT SLEEPING! Even if Iisten hardcore songs like Rammstein, or Slipknot, impossible to get the fuck out that song of my brain. This is personnal, but Good Tonight wins. And without this personnal problem, Good Tonight is the best song since looong time in an animated movie, even with Disney, I don t jocking, but the last Disney song in the same quality was Phil Collins s Son of Man of Tarzan! Such a banger! Sooo catchy like "Why Should I Worry?" from Oliver & cie. If the conclusion is an equality, the differences between the movies when they wins one point ate larger with Puss in Boots, particullary with the Villains, and even if The Bad Guys is a such good movie (16/20), Puss in Boots 2 still better (18/20).

Puss In Boots: The Last Wish is already the winner here, there's no competition, but then again they are winners in their own rights. After watching The Bad Guys, it was kinda obvious how the story would end, I was quite literally, rejecting the prediction in my head when I watched it the first time. The story is basic, it's very clear that DreamWorks played it safe with The Bad Guys, the message to learn was fine, characters were likeable, and the story was passable. I always thought that The Bad Guys was a "test" or some kind of social experiment since DreamWorks integrated the new animation style of half 3D half 2D like Spiderverse had, and considering it did really well, they stepped up their game with Puss In Boots. It was their previous movie being well received was like a green light to go nuts on the new Puss In Boots movie. What was lacking in The Bad Guys was an interesting story. You can already guess what was going to happen half way in the movie and the villain wasn't all too interesting. But even with those flaws it still remained entertaining, almost "classic" in my opinion. Puss In Boots: The Last Wish took what was lacking in their previous movie and improved upon it. The Last Wish had an interesting story tackling about death anxiety, and had an interesting (also kinda scary) villain. It's basically a movie that has everything. Interesting and relatively deep story, lovable characters (including the new ones), amazing music, and fantastic animation. It's basically a perfect movie! It's so good that I'm really having a hard time trying to find a flaw in Puss In Boots: The Last Wish. Go watch Puss In Boots: The Last Wish now! Buy the tickets, buy the DVD (if it's already available), rent the movie. The DreamWorks renaissance is now!

In my opinion, Puss in boots the last wish was only the better film cause Of The bad guys using a twist villain, they were both very amazing films and they were definitely comebacks from dreamworks’ 2021 films. Btw for those who don’t know yet, They just released the trailer for their next film ruby gilman: teenage kraken and it’s being released on June 30th. The next film after that will be trolls 3 and then Kung fu panda 4!!

Yes, the gold medal for best animated film of 2022 has to go to Puss, and the silver medal to the bad guys. It’s to bad 2023 won’t be as good for Dreamworks, with only one film. Ok, I am disappointed puss didn’t actually win best animated film. How did Pinocchio beat Puss in Boots. It was good, but not great.

storywise, puss in boots wins by a mile in my opinion, with death, jack horner and gold locks being amazing villians and also that deaths goal colidese with puss's goal makes him an even beter villian. But i...and hear me out....I aboslutly depice the animation in puss in boots 2. I feel like it's trying to do what the did in the bad guys, but failing seeing as the both had the comicbook style but the bad guys didn't have to sacrifice frames in order to get there. i felt almost sick looking at it. This is purly for the fight scenes tho. when things calm down it became good enough to look at. This is just my personal opinon, i'm not a proffecional animator or reviewer but if you have any opinons about what i said i'd love to hear it.
