I'm just beginning to watch, but am confused with the sequences of the opening scenes. A crime takes place at night when a woman comes home alone. Her body is discovered by pool man in daylight (next morning?). But the police don't arrive until supper time after dark (evening after the pool man's discovery?).

I suppose you think that was real blood from a real body ~ it is called ACTING! it's fake blood, and no one was harmed, not even the dog, during the filming of this picture. There are agencies that closely monitor how animals r treated during the filming of pictures, and trust me, this film would not be shown anywhere, if any animal was harmed during the filming of this picture.
