I'm quite new to airbrushing and I mainly build model kits I'm looking to upgrade from my cheap Amazon brush, and have 2 different ones that I've picked out that I want to get, it's either between the H&S Evo 2024 or the Mr. Hobby PS771 id like to use the airbrush for everything in the hobby that entails one, id like to be able to use it for my priming base coats and every fine camouflage lines. I'm wondering if it would be okay to use a .18 need to do all those different things. I also need to be able to spray very thinned paint at a very low PSI to create translucent dust and dirt build-up, and I don't know much about airbrushes so I'm a little worried that maybe a .18 needle might be too small to paint decently large areas Id really appreciate your honest feedback I do plan on picking up another brush down the line for general application but right now I really need something for the smallest detail but can also do everything else, Thank you so much.
@theartworkshop2 ай бұрын
I love both of those airbrushes equally. They are both awesome and you can't go wrong with either. For your application the Evo2024 is a better choice. The .18 of the 771 is way too small for primers or thicker paint. The evo can go up to much larger nozzles sizes which will allow you to spray those heavier paints. And the small setup on the evo24 sprays incredible detail. Hope this helps!

@theartworkshop2 ай бұрын
The hold down ring on my sotars look pretty flush to me. Yes, all of my sotars have a small air leak with soapy water. I mentioned it a few times on the channel because it's the one thing that I hate seeing. My micron takumi also had a small leak right from the factory using the soapy water test as well. You just need to add some beeswax to those threads and tighten it down (lightly- hand tighten only). That should fix it right up! If yours isn't flush and you just got it maybe it is a manufacturing issue which might be worth returning and replacing.

It's one of the more tricky ones to put together, but you'll get it. Reassembling this one was SO FRUSTRATING to me when I bought my first one in 06 or 07. Don't fret, you'll get it. What I like to do is place the trigger in first and then drop in the trigger lever right behind it. The concave part of it should be facing the trigger, with the convex curve toward the back. A pair of tweezers helps a lot because it's the most difficult part to get back in. Then take that spring assembly and screw it in to the body of the airbrush. You can see how I reassembled the spring assembly in the video at the 6:16 mark. You'll get it together and working. I went through the same thing back when I bought it too.
