No, he was created with the sole purpose of being everyone's punching bag, he was a text subject for the dangerous experiments of his boss Dr Bunsen Honeydew and...well I think that's it, what else had this character ever done besides that?. I mean in the few cameos we'd seen of him he always end up burned, beaten, electrocuted or worse.

So, while Beaker and Honeydew were the first to encounter the new and reformed Scrooge, Beaker was the first to show him that his positive outlooks and his acts of charity will cause others to like him. Common sense, I know, but Scrooge needed to see it and experience it for himself. And Beaker delivered.😊

Just imagine, if the poor Beaker has participated in the contest of "El Chacal de la Trompeta", in the discontinued spanish show Sábado Gigante.
