The Ballestas Islands - A Journey from Paracas

This adventure began in the coastal town of Paracas, Peru. It was there that I boarded a boat and headed for the archipelago known as the Ballestas Islands, a small island chain that acts as a refuge for marine life. The tour provided an excellent combination of nature and history. Along the way I saw the Candelabra geoglyph, interesting rock formations, and wildlife including sea lions. The pleasant little town of Paracas provides numerous shops and restaurants, and I even attended a class on the preparation of ceviche. Be sure to add this boat tour to your travel itinerary while visiting Peru. #paracasperu
