Gibraltar shops & Bars in the daytime look absolutely amazing 🤩 Main Street the bins & the flower pots, Post Box & even a UK postcode 😲 Mini Matalan Holland & Barrett wow so strange a Holland & Barrets in Gibraltar!!! Topshop certainly has a Spanish feel. Ive got to admit if i could go anywhere aboard one place might be Gibraltar! English money too! Ocean Village, is amazing the Casino Ship! I bet youve been in there Tim! Ive never been in Casino in my life but i would love them especially this one. I cant imagine what the Casino inside the Ship is like!! The caves magificently awesome! All the natural formations in the caves & the shades of browns & greens! You deserve an award for your Cycling Skills cycling, talking holding the Gimbal Stick & panning the camera! I don't know how you do it! Those steps were very steep on your journey up & down the Rock of Gibraltar! Another English tie the Windsor Suspension Bridge looked pretty study but so so high! I don't know if i could of walked over the supension Bridge i doubt it! But what fantastic views. That must of been hard leaving your camera on the rock edge while you walked back on the Bridge to demonstrate how high it was! The Monkeys were adorable 🥰 & they all behaved themselves. I wouldn't of liked to see the Snake, i don't blame you for freaking out! The 🐒🐵 Monkeys look so human! The one rubbing its eyes! The sky walk looked thrilling if you can stand the height & the heat! Must be so difficult climbing all ghst way in the Sun! You weren't sweating even cycling & filming! How do you stay on your bike holding on with one hand😮 Highest point of Gibraltar breathtaking! The beaches look awesome underneath the Rock of Gibraltar! Beautiful golden sands & blue waters🌅💘 What a Waterwall spilling out from the aww inspiring Rock! British Flags on Gibraltar Beaches. The colourful Chalet type Beach Houses are lovely. The Lighthouse even looked English/British. My highlight of this vlog is definitely the cycle up 'The Rock' to see the Sunset. Ive used up all the lovely words in the English volcabulary to describe that Sunset just emotional & more than Beautiful! Its my favourite sky when its a Sunset! Thr Flood lights are incredible illuminations. Walking across the Runway of the Airport incredible! It looks a massive Airport too. Absolutely stunning vlog Tim from a year ago. I cant wait to see your vlog coming up very shortly in 2023 from Gibraltar 💚🧡❤️

We fell in love with Gibraltar after getting married there. We stayed on the Sunborn and we'd highly recommend it to anyone getting married in Gib. We were lucky enough to be allocated a room on the airport side which is away from the bars and a little quieter. Gib is a quirky place which we like. Its fascinating listening to the locals flicking between Spanish and English in the same conversation, sometimes in the same sentence!!

As a child in the mid 1950’s I spent three years on Gibraltar. Two refuelling stops on Vickers Viking to get there and one three years later in a Vickers Viscount returning to the UK. The video brought back many memories. Weekends at Catalan Bay and weekdays at Eastern beach or the Nuffield pool if it still exists.

Wow! Been following you for a while and never realised you did a walk around Gibraltar, and WOW you went everywhere! I have been working in Gibraltar for 15 years and you've reminded me just how great it is. As a cross border worker, I just see the business district area every day and offices and its easy to forget the other side and the top of the rock. You really know the place well, even a few facts I didn't know! The big building near eastern beach are new apartments, supposed to be affordable housing. Soon you won't see cars crossing the runway as the new airport tunnel (Near eastern beach) is due to be opened in the next month or so finally! But you will still be able to walk and cycle over the runway crossing. Great video Tim! The Gibraltar tourist board could probably use your expertise!

I went there with Mum in 1960, it was pouring with rain and all I can recall is that it seemed a lot of nothing and all up hill. We were coming home from Singapore on a ship and it docked there, well out to sea and we went to shore on a small boat , bobbing around on this choppy sea. You correctly refer to the architecture looking British in some places (the red brick building you pointed out is the British Governor's Residence). Then you say it looks Spanish in other parts. However, the building you pointed out as Spanish looking, and most other traditional residential buildings in Gibraltar have a strong Genoese/Maltese influence. Hence all the Venetian shutters. There were Spanish style buildings at one point, single floor, with red tiled roofs, but those have mostly disappeared as the population expanded, because of the need to build upwards. To a visitor, the most Spanish thing about Gibraltar will the the language you hear on the streets. While the official and formal language is English, informal conversation is mostly conducted in Llanito. That is, a mixture of English and Spanish, peppered with local versions of words borrowed from Maltese, Italian, and Moroccan Berber.

Hi Tim, great vid, I really enjoyed this. Here's a tip for you: The word Stalactite has the letter 'c' in it. Think of c, think of ceiling. Stalactites hang from the ceiling. So obviously, stalagmites are the ones on the ground. Hope you can understand that, lol! 😁

@@WalkWithMeTim I always remember it this way... Tites (Tights) come down! Think of tights hanging down on a washing line.

Great video, I really enjoyed watching. Just one pointer, the buildings you see around Gibraltar are of Genoese decent , not Spanish as you mentioned whilst you were stood outside the convent. Other than that very informative video. Greetings from a Gibraltarian. 🇬🇮🇬🇧

Going back to the 1960s, every single time I got to that part of the world, Spain had closed access to Gib. Now I see why. It is infinitely more interesting than any place within 100 miles. Looks like something there for all ages. There's a sameness about coastal development in Spain now. Beyond the pool, the beach or golf course, it has few attractions for families, for kids & adolescents most of whom love tunnels, caves, suspension bridges, macaques, winding trails, old armaments. Gibralter would get them away from video screens without coaxing. I can't believe all the ways of getting up that big rock. By car even! Then, did I not see an elevator? The town looks a perfect blend of old and new*. I may never get back to that part of the world, but at least I know all that I missed. This thorough tour will inform a whole new generation. *Except for the cookie-cutter development shown @ 23:18. Yipes! Be interesting to hear how that one sneaked past the planning authorities. Rather than pay an architect, some cheapskate found a free floor plan on the internet and built a hundred copies. All-in-a-row. Shame. Those things are hard to undo, and fortunately this video shows it's not too prevalent in Gibralter as a whole. ....... Comments, please.
