I like this song by them. It's not a drastic change by them. Throw in a banjo and a mandolin and it will sound like some of their other songs too. I did like their "Live forever" song too. It wasn't country but it was still a good, catchy song.

Kimberly doesn't look bad. they have right to change their look if they want. I was suddenly change from vintage to Goth girl too. It just like new things make you feel fascinating rather than feeling old with the same thing after all the time. Look at another band like Tokio Hotel, I even didn't recognize them after a night but the point is their fan always support them and appreciate their music not their look I like this song, it sounds a little bit Indie to me and although Kimberly's new style is shock but it's alright to me

The look has changed but the sound hasn't changed that much. I own all their albums and they've always had a couple songs that sound very similar to this "pop wise". I will always love The Band Perry. It's not easy to make music and go from one genre to another and still maintain a good fan base, to still have a career. I wish them luck and hope they still keep their very distinctive sound and don't get lost the studio made junk that's all the rage right now, with auto tone and what not. And that they continue to write their music as well.

Awhile back The Band Perry had an unique style. They weren't going pop, pop music was coming to them. This song is good, but it's a common sound. I bet if they arranged it in their earlier style, it would be better. Kimberly Perry has such a strong voice with character. If I Die Young is pure songwriting magic. And that magic is still inside her and I hope we hear more of that soon.

I truly enjoy country music. Also a fan of 80's music. Seen Garth, Reba, Brooks, and Dunn, Montgomery Gentry, Neil Diamond, Berlin, and Kenny Rogers in the last year. This song is great. if you like the music great. if not, everyone is entitled to their opinion. But listen to the music and song first before you hate them just for their new appearance.

I do believe they are speaking about the dark of night , such as a romantic evening , and love. This does not mean anything else but romance and love. Anyone who knows this band knows they are from the southern BIBLE BELT area.. If Taylor Swift can do crossover music so can The BAND PERRY. I like the song, they are innovative and refreshing.

The song isn’t awful, it’s just not them. The worst thing for an artist is to have an identity crisis, and this is the definition of that. I don’t even know who they are anymore. I remember when their country music came out, it blew me away, it was way better than the country out now. Praying to god they go back to their roots because this feels so unnatural. And I saw them twice back in 2012, with a fiddle player, Neil playing Mando, two great guitarists. I don’t know what this is

They've stated that originally they were more of a rock band. Then Kimberly wrote 'If I Die Young' and they went where that took them. They're not saying goodbye to country, just trying something different. I love their older music, but I don't think we should criticize their new stuff, or say they changed for silly reasons.

Well, I have been a big Band Perry follower but unfortunately they have taken a turn with their music where we will part ways. I'm not saying their new sound is terrible, it is just not for me. Unfortunately, history has shown that once an artist does something outside of a loyal country music fan base's comfort zone (Dixie Chicks, Faith Hill, etc.) they are never welcomed back in. They were always a fringe country act but were accepted and had a great following. I hope they get a big following in this new genre and can continue to have success making the music they want to. I will just miss their original sound...
