A band that is actually playing and singling live on tv - what a shock!

Aside from maybe a sample or two from the original pressing yeah its refreshing to see a live performance with instruments and vocals instead of the backing track with live vocals. Here in UK most stuff at the time was totally lip synced for shows except for rare exceptions which is why bands like e.g. The Stranglers took the p*ss when they had to lip sync because they hated it...

@@tommyvercetti8023 Well said. Her lyrics are totally personal. On the Bangles albums it's kind of like the Bangles songs and Michael Steele songs. They never really did get together in writing. I remember an interview in the early 2000s when Michael said they were actually working on writing songs together. But unfortunately those never got to see the light of day if they do exist.

Miki and the rest of the band had a difference of opinion. During thier hiatus the rest of the band had gotten married and had kids. When the band reunited they did not want to do the same schedule as they used to as they were raising kids and husbands. After going thru a few fill-in bass players and even fill-in keyboard players the Bangles now tour with their original bass player from before Micki joined the band.

Micki Steele is the only True Wild Rocker in The Bangles. Like Kathy Valentine in The Go-Go's. The Bangles were a Golden Band in 1980's and became a Shitty Band in this miserable 21th Century. SHAME ON THEM! Ending the band at their peak of sucess in 1989 is MADNESS. Kicking off a super-talented musician such as Micki Steele is TOO STUPID. And not hiring a talented female bass guitar player is TOO CRAZY. F@#$ OFF their "male bassist". Take a look at their defaut picture in all their Social Media pages showing a photo of the 3 Suckers without Micki Steele. It's a fucking LACK OF RESPECT to their former band mate. It's UNBELIEVABLE how that 3 women could be so fucking ASSHOLES.

She probably burned a couple hundred calories a day just moving the eyes from side to side. I noticed in one instant that Vicky adopted the same mechanism -- or maybe Susanna got it from Vicky. For me, the most seductive element for Susanna is her voice - there's a natural sensuality springing from her vocals aside from some forward lyrics.

Yes, Michael was the best & most experienced, & oldest member of the band. When she retired in early 2004, she had been playing professionally for 25 years. She had taken a 4 year break from music, from the fall of '94 to the fall of '98. All totaled, including the break, Michael had been in music for 29 years.

Debbi has also filled in on drums for some major bands. She's very good. I don't think Susanna and Vicki are the best guitarist for sure.

I love that they sang live and didn't have to lip sync like they make you do on so many TV shows. Michael's awsome, but if you watch other complete live concerts, like at the Syria Mosque in Pittsburgh in 1986, you'll see that Vicki is a very solid lead guitar, as is Susanna on rhythm, and Debbi on drums. They may not be Jimi Hendrix, or John Lennon, or John Bonham, but they are pretty good.

As a drummer I’m impressed by Debbi Peterson’s flawless groove. You can tell she’s a serious player. The harmonies are perfect, the whole group’s sound is spot-on accurate faithful to the recordings.
