@jacksonmorganfroghin48152 жыл бұрын
@@petermeichan3160 Your opinion is duly noted, however I have to disagree. Certainly some musicians may be better like Clapton or Donald Fagen. Some singers could be greater like Elvis or Freddie. There have been better songs written such as Like a Rolling Stone or Stayin' Alive or Nights in White Satin but overall the Beatles have the best body of work that have influenced the most people and their music will be played a hundred years from now. More artists have covered Yesterday than any other song. The Beatles still hold the record for the most #1 songs on the Billboard charts. The reason I like them I can sing their songs and they exuded love while the Stones have a different vibe. Sympathy for the Devil? What was Jagger thinking?

There seems to be a lot of hate for this song among the folks who take music WAY to seriously. My face is a bit sore from smiling all the way through it every time. That's what music is about. And this is also a good example that they do sing and play well (some especially well) live.

Well, this is a more complicated thing than it seems, precisely because this song (their biggest hit) can be argued to be the trigger that set the demise of the Bangles in motion. To this day they (particularly) Debbi have very mixed feelings about it. They play it because they know the audience loves it and expects them to play it, not because they love it so much themselves.
