Rarely do I see a politically-motivated KZbinr express this much empathy. Not only do you express support for the thousands of legitimate freedom fighters around the globe, you empathize with those normal folk who hold opposing views. This is especially true in the Andrew Tate segment, where you don’t make fun of his fans but instead see them for what they are: victims of a bad actor who’s taken advantage of an uncaring system. Great stuff, even compared to the Evil Business of 2021! Already excited for/dreading next year!

Absolutely, I'm thankful I grew up early enough to miss his bullshit, although there was some chance of any other turbo-misogynist at the time to steer me in a bad direction But yeah it just feels kinda wrong to meme on tate's followers because they were indoctrinated and he got rich by exploiting very young men's insecurities, a lot of them can't even drive a car. What they need is help and being pointed and laughed at is probably something they've experienced too much already. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth, I really do hope they start to see how they got misled and not to trust anybody who claims to know all the answers My theory is a lot of these people want someone to point and laugh at but man, these are practically kids and tate knew exactly how to play them

Women have been so damn rude and awful for the last few years because they have had so much damn smoke blown up their "the future is female, destroying most media ip with really shitty lame girl boss crap that nobody likes.. what do you thinks going to happen. a lot of it stems from the complete lack of respect, empathy, understanding and honesty that the media and particularly the left have shown towards men. its disgraceful and without doubt you will see a dozen replacement tates pop up until we get the treatment of men right. We have some very big world problems right now and coming up and until we can all look at our own faults honestly and not have one side pretend that it is all the fault of the other side then we are screwed. the dishonest discourse on gender has far reaching effects. it quite saddening and i dont think we are going to be able to do it. narcissism and blame shifting knows no bounds in the current age. mark my words Andrew tate is just the beginning unfortunately.

Your take of the Hans Niemann chess drama was very interesting, every time I watched Hikaru or any other chesstuber's scrutiny of Niemann it always stuck to the back of my mind "Not a single thing being said by these guys is proof that Niemann ACTUALLY cheated." You bringing to light all the facts surrounding where the money lay in all that drama really has provided the most balanced take of the drama on youtube imo!
@ekki1993 Жыл бұрын
Hikaru's "argument" actually betrays an existencial dread he (and probably other GMs) has for professional chess as a whole. Cheating could easily reach a point where it's indetectable without extremely invasive checks. The real group that's to blame for that is FIDE, though. Up until now FIDE has done a terrible job and leaned way too hard on the honor system. It was a matter of time before someone threw a believable accusation making that house of cards start to crumble. Chess needs a different approach to rewarding good players and nobody is doing jack shit to solve the problem, just hoping the honor system can be enough somehow and the arms race of cheaters vs detection can magically end in a win for detection.

Ben there are deep deep reason why your kids are starting to do this. Andrew tate is atrocious but so is the way the left and also the media have treated men and masculinity. I find Iran coverage in English almost always lacks a perspective from actual average Iranian people (opposed to elites and those with expat families) living in Iran. Much like Cuba, those expats in the West and elites in the country who speak English have one point of view but many of the average / poor people in the country have a very different view that rarely gets covered. These are usually rural or poor people, usually pretty religious, and usually they are distrustful of outsiders / eat up regime news and viewpoints so they distrust outsiders plus don't know English. I find this was also true in Afghanistan and Iraq during the US invasion of both countries. My family also left for the US when I was young, and it's only recently on trips back I realized how different their views were from the average people around them growing up. All the best to you and your family

I live in Ottawa, the freedom convoy wasn’t something that most people here liked or were for, and they didn’t just block the borders, they completely packed all of the busiest area of downtown, causing an infrastructural nightmare, people literally died because they wouldn’t even let ambulances past, you also didn’t bring up the fact that there was a full on counter protest by people who just wanted their lives to go back to normal where they pushed out the convoy from a main bridge they were occupying, and the amount of people that were threatened for following mandates was insane, my girl friend was afraid to go home alone because dudes would literally surround her until she took her mask off, plus the protest wasn’t actually successful, yes the mandates did end, on the day they were originally set to, they didn’t start heading to Ottawa till a month before it was set to end, they knew what was gonna happen and they did it so they could say they won and the leaders could grift more money out of people
