Would like to add a bit of context here but this guy reacted to a video that i made as an update to the pay to win situation within the first week of the game while i made clear I was still learning & discovering the game. He reacted to it 3 weeks later when more content/milestones/features were unlocked & updated/patched, I even had a updated comment which he didn't mention. Also to swipe for 2k sollant with lucent when the upgrade costs were reaching close to a million per click with limited listings on the AH at the end game was not realistic to do. Furthermore, he's not even showing the correct way to swipe for Sollant. Sollant is "purchased" by buying Precious stones (like Marinds) which sell for a LOT (this was discovered after my video recording as it was unlocked). I made an update video going over the pay to win situation after most milestones/content/features were unlocked. I will say with full certainty that the game is 100% pay to win but the gap is not that big atm due to milestones. Once all milestones have been reached, it will highly likely become significantly more pay to win. Regardless, i enjoyed watching your take! Thank you for the content, just felt the need to explain my side a bit (:

I can confirm this, well over 200+ hours in and the pay to win is not as easy as people think. Only of my guild mates is a chronic pay to win fen and is constantly hitting walls.

If the healing mechanics/gameplay are fun, that's all I care about. Healing through difficult content is my favorite part of mmos that have that function. So much so I actually considered playing Shai on bdo lol

By watching some gameplay, I like it actually, not super static like FF14 nor zoom zoom like bdo. It seems a bit faster than wow a bit. Soft tag targeting like BnS, but in classic fantasy style

Blue's take on grinding is of course his opinion, but grinding doing the same task over and over especially BDO grinding is not very entertaining, even more so if you are a streamer. BDO streamers do not get high viewership on average and there is a reason for that. I think even though I will not be trying out T/L myself it will do better because not only does it have big raids it has smaller raids as well, and group content something BDO lacks badly. There is also PvP but historically PvP players are the minority whether these people want to believe it or not it's true, just look to huge boon BDO had this past summer and how fast it plummeted when people found out there was no end game but grind endlessly and/or do the broke, unbalanced PvP BDO offers...(Be thoughtful here, there is no way in hell PA can balance that number of classes that everyone will be happy with, BDO is doomed to broke PvP, even fighting games have hard time balancing. and they are the kings at it...)

As a lvl 50 playing TL. Let me clear the combat is not like bdo, bdo combat is super fast and you have to move a lot, in TL is not the same combat is more simple and relaxing. But that does not mean the combat is bad, TL combat is great for the type of combat TL have and you going to enjoy it, once you play TL and you go back to bdo, ur going to find bdo combat too weird and also you gonna see bdo graphics like crap lolz. And to finish, TL p2w system look super p2w but is not cuz in the market you can only buy normal purple item wich you gonna have to upgrade, best in slot items are only drop in dungeons and are not tradeable, I’m full +9 full blue and you can go to the market and get full purple and try pvp me and you gonna get ass kick by a full +9 blue, if you dont upgrade those purple you are week and to upgrade those purple you need A lot of materials wich you only get by playing the game and also you need alot but alot off sollant game gold, is not like the wizard said you can go to the market and buy purple and sell it to npc lmao if you sell a purple you will get 21k gold and you need millions to upgrade think how many you gonna have to buy for real money you gonna have to be rich to just do one upgrade and every purple you can upgrade it to plus 9.

So...let me get this straight...it's NOT pay 2 win because the scale you need to fully max things out is going to be an obscene amount? Like in BDO? So bad that realistically nobody is gonna take that route? But unlike in BDO, you can get meaningful progression for partially paying to get there by swiping. So...that doesn't really work. The guy wasn't buying purples to sell FYI, he was buying cheap ass white items to sell for like 440 "silver" currency. Those purple items were being sold for like 3k "gold" which you say is gonna sell for 21k silver. The stuff he bought was 10...for 440 silver. So you are looking at transfers rates of at least 6 times what you are claiming. You need millions you say...so swipe for like 10 purple items worth of gold, buy cheap 10 gold items and you are now in the millions range. Plus a few for the actual purple items you need as a base. I'm not seeing that being on the out of range of P2W that BDO is. And BDO P2W actually IS time gated since you can only sell so much pearl items in the marketplace at a time. And you claim need other materials...which the guy in the video just proved you can use cash currency to get...so...no, you are absolutely incorrect in what you are saying. You are either lying to get other people to play your game or your copium level is so high that you are completely delusional. What REALLY matters is how much is that 3k gold currency gonna be in USD and how much effort is required to collect ~125k silver currency. If we assume 3k gold is gonna be around 30 bucks and 125k silver takes like 2 or 3 hours of game play to collect...than no, the P2W isn't gonna be that bad. You swipe 30 bucks to save you a couple of hours of grinding isn't gonna sky rocket most people too far ahead. Sure you could whale out and get max purples day 1...but people who just play the game will catch up quickly enough. Is 125k silver 100 hours of grind? Yeah...than this becomes SUPER P2W and not worth even bothering to play unless you are a swiper.

i would like to add some things regarding the pay to win aswell. I have never played throne and liberty but from my understanding watching alot of streams and youtube tutorials you can buy things on the market for real money, with that said there is IF there is something at the market. There will be. But not at the beginning when everyone starting. There will also be monthly pass but monthly paid passes isnt really new these days. There is alot of games that has monthly subscription or monthly passes due to this game is also free to play. And from what i understand you can buy base level gear. But those gear needs as every other gear to be leveled up, tho purple is more expensive. And to level them up you will need ingame materials you get from doing daily tasks or farming ingame gold or dungeons or world bosses. There is no way to buy gold with real money ingame from what i know of. So even if you can buy purple gear you still need to upgrade them to get more powerfull, and a fully upgraded blue item is better then a level 1 purple. So with all this back in mind it is pay to win to a certain degree but you are still gonna face that wall sooner or later regarding materials or ingame currency.

The "p2w" people talk about, actually it's just like guild wars 2. You could buy currency to spend on the shop. Or simply play the game, earn the currency, and be traded into shop currency. But whats NICE about throne and liberty is UNLIKE gw2, if someone buys your stuff WITH shop currency.. you actually GET the shop currency.

I dunno about this take. It's similar to the gem system in GW2 but it works fine in GW2 because gear treadmill does not exist in that game, you can literally blast out a set of ascended gear (BiS stats) and it will stay BiS forever, Yes you can swipe thousands of gold and get a leg weapon but why would you do that when you can easily obtain ascended weapons lol, only reason will be you really love the skin. Whereas in TL, I assume there will be some form of gear treadmill which imo doesn't work well with this system unless BiS gear can be obtained without extreme time investment (lol its a korean mmo so no chance), else it would just be another Mastercard fkfest within the top % of the community. Just because this system exists and works in other game's system, doesn't mean it will magically fit in like a puzzle piece to another game's system. Gotta look more at the whole picture and consider from there.

Dunno im pretty young and i think that tabtarget and hybrid and action combat can be on the same level. But only if it 1. makes sense für the game (gameplay and/or mechanics), 2. has an apropriate skill floor and celing (mechanics) 3. and also very important a good overall polished feeling. Im fairly young(under 25), grew up with both, played bdo and diffrent hybrid and specialised targeting mmos and rpgs. I would say tab targeting is not a boomer thing specifically, but its easier to fail at providing a high enough skill celing (as we know from other mmos). Also if my englisch isnt perfect, im sorry, im not native.

this video is so bad explaining P2W part. BlueSquadron himself multiple times missunderstood which currency is being used where. This p2w system is no difference to BDO building costumes (effectively grinding for pearls to get crons) to progress in game...

Umm...copium much? You swipe to progress your gear at a rate of around 125k silver per 3k gold spent. Which seems to be a guaranteed progression rate of X amount of materials = X level of gear. So swiping for that amount saves you however long it takes to grind that much silver. Which FYI is a much better gear progression system than BDO. Honestly, you would hard pressed to come up with a WORSE gear progression system than BDO. Anyways, the way BDO works, all swiping for a costume does (around 30 bucks) is to save you around 2 hours of grinding to buy the crons directly from vendor. Which may or may not help in progressing your gear. So really...what matters is how much time are you saving by swiping for that 125k silver? Is it a couple of hours like BDO? Or is it 100s of hours? Because if it's a couple of hours...whatever. If it's 100s...that is some super P2W shit. And no...these two things are not really the same thing. Other than they are both P2W mechanics.

I played l2 back in the Day. And this game is fine for take over from that. The game is beautyfull. But I alrdy have that in bdo, the combat is nowhere near bdo . It looks to much lost ark with ui colors and enhance. It should be a good casual mmo. But not something i would leave bdo for.
