But the 2011 Telltale game Jurassic Park The Game is 100% and complete CANON to the movies event ! The unilateral and indisputable evidences are the many, many element stuff like Mount SIBO Isla Nublar volcano references and mention we can find here and here throughout the franchise ! And otherwise also, if the game was not canon, why would it exist in the first place if not to fit rightly into the chronology of the movies? Think about it, again, another indisputable evidence that this game is 100% because he was firstly and mainly made in order to enrich and add new things to the pre-established lres! Otherwise it wouldn't have been made at all and wouldn't exist if it hadn't been. And this game was also made primeraly to explain like mains tory arc element the destiny to this object ! CQDF. The game is also confirmed to be completely canon, and the only with JP Trespasser and JW Aftermath to be canon with movies chronology. Obviousely, the productor team behind Camp Cretaceous show made a big scenaristic error/goof, a inconsitencies, like the T-rex skull in the Visitor Center in the Third season thus the Indominus rex destroyed it in the 2015 movie. But here, that will be put in front of our eyes with more importance than this later case we can easily forget. In fact, since there anything to take anymore since two complete decades fromt he first movie due to the fact that the embryos are no more viable and completely decomposed since the time, that likely will even be just a "cameo" fan service reference (pretty useless and more disturbing). There was no need at all, either for fan-service either for important uses. Nothing. And this show how they go to far in this aspect of the show, because there at my opinion too many fan-service in this serie, and who regularely remind us in each episodes elements stuff from the previous first trilogy films. Truly, at one point, that become to much and made thing bads like here, because the show become just a big overall backstory telling than his own show, at the sacrifice to the well made and established lore that previous people work very hard to put in place ! The only solution to explain and resolve this error is that the barbasol in question made by Byosin was made and create to also support high and powerfull weight and mass, like several tons of a dinosaurs, just in case for safety. But at the same time, this errors forces us to find solutions and excuses up to really ridiculous to maintain. All because the producers didn't pay attention and didn't look at what had already been done in the franchise.

The barbasol can may well tie into the plot of Dominion, if and *only if* it was picked up by BioSyn within 36 hours of Nedry's death, and that's how they were able to get a foothold in the cloning business with the downfall of InGen. That can would be worse than useless almost thirty years on in the events of Camp Cretaceous and can't really be used as a part of the plot like it was in Jurassic Park: The Game.

Why would it be useless? The Embryos would not be viable, but the DNA in the embryos would last for many hundreds of years without any degradation. In fact in scientific testing they have found that DNA from 1000 year old remains is still 75% intact, showing DNA has a very long lifespan.

To be honest with you, I'm a tiny bit disappointed about the Barbasol Can returning after the TellTale Game made a return, because despite being soft canon, it first mentioned the geothermal power and Mount Sibo, which foreshadowed the volcano in Fallen Kingdom, unless you pay close attention to the mountain peak from the 3D map in the control room scene in the first Jurassic Park, you'll understand where this is coming from.

I saw this before and thought it was super cool they were finally following up with that can. I just started watching camp cretaceous a week ago, but I still got excited watching the season 5 trailer, despite only being on season 2. I really hope it adds some lore to the movies while also having a decent explanation for why it is back.

Even after the time expired the DNA within each compartment is a pure sample for each species and while the embryos are certainly dead, they could extract the DNA of each of those species from them. DNA shouldn't break down that quickly. Of course you would need the technology to create new viable embryos from that DNA but that's essentially what InGen did in the first place; create embryos from DNA. The only difference being that this DNA is already a complete. The most difficult step is thus already done.

The reason for Dodson and Biosyn wanting the embryos in the first movies was to cut down on all the years of research and all the expense of buying equipment that Ingen had invested in to make dinosaurs. With Embryos they could squirt them into unfertilised eggs and grow dinos very easily and quickly. Now yes the film said the can only could keep the Embryos cool for 36 hours, and after that the embryos would not be viable aka die. However the DNA in the embryos has a lifespan of 1000 years before it would start to break down and the sequence would start to become broken and fragments. So finding that can days, weeks, months or years after the events of Jurassic Park, would only mean the people finding it would need to extract the DNA from the embryos and then start the lengthy gene sequencing process and eventually synthesise their own embryos and grow their own dinos. That would again require a lot of financial investment and time. Which is why in the Lost World Novel, Dodson and Biosyn are on Sorna trying to steal eggs because to that company it’s still the easiest, fastest and quickest way to get to what they want.

Also I recently finished binge watching the Franchise with my best friend!! He really enjoyed this series and we're gonna see Dominion in theaters together!! Watching Klayton's assorted JP related works over the past couple of years including things like play throughs of 'Jurassic Park: the Game' could provide a useful backstory for Biosyn getting the cryo-can. Events in that game are the same time frame and marginally later than those of the original movie. Basically have events as in Klaytons play through (which would make a good movie or TV season in itself) except the can simply falls of the jetty when Billy drops it. This can be seen through bincoulars by a Biosyn extraction crew on hand with a boat in case of 'difficulties' with the original plan. They also witness Gerry, Jess and Nima's final escape from the T-rex and when they - and Rexy - depart the scene they could retrieve the can. Just a thought - a proper screenplay writer could probably to better, but it's a start and if they made the events into a spinoff I'd definitely watch it.

DNA is thought to have a half-life of over 500 years, which means that it takes that long for half of the bonds within a DNA strand to break. This means, even if the embryos were found outside that 36 viability window, depending on the conditions the DNA of the embryos could have remained completely intact for hundreds of years. Being inside layers of containers would keep water out, which is what speeds up degradation of DNA the most. Just a few years or even decades would have done nothing much to the DNA. And even if some parts had degraded too much to be used, all Biosyn had to do was insert a new gene and they'd be all good to make their own embryos.

If they show a flashback with Lewis Dodgson and his men traveling to Isla Nublar to retrieve the Barbasol can fill with Dinosaur embryos and take it back to Biosyn, that be interesting. Also, I've seen the first trailer of Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous Season 5 and I can't believe it's the final season, I only hope it's better than Season 4 with less B.R.A.D robot dog's.

I think the backstory is that Mantacorp found the can on nublar before ingen/ mazranni salvaged the old park and build JW. It would have been cooler to see Biosyn building their sancutary and engineering their own dinos in dominion from the what was in the can, but i bet camp cretaceous will be the only new cannon that uses the babesol can, and at least tries to tie it up in some way.

Just a thought, they say that the ground stays cooler such as with mines that stay the same temp more or less all year. If you take that in to account if the coolant continued working after it was covered in mud it the mud could of acted like an insulator giving a longer half life. I know its a stretch but its the only thing I could thing of making the can useful.

Maybe it's not the same can. It is corporate espionage, it would make sense to have more than one ace up their sleeve, and even a fall guy, which could've been Nedry. There must've been other disgruntled employees, like Wu. He seems pretty innocuous in JP, but is shown to be a bit more like a mad scientist in the JW movies. He would probably also have access to more samples that Nedry wouldn't have been able to get anywhere near.

My theory is that the can is now empty, and like you said, within those crucial 36 hours before it's temperature controlled atmosphere ran low, a team was sent in to recover it, very similar to how the Indominus Rex bone was recovered for its DNA by a small team, which we'll likely get a flashback to in the movie or at least reference to in dialogue. Some leaked Dominion temporary tattoos showed it, and some Reddit post mentioned a replica of it on set for Dominion a couple years back, so it's safe to say it's going to show up in some capacity in Dominion.

i noticed that the barbasol can wasnt period accurate. it had an accurate label and cap, but the can had the little curved ridge near the top where the can meets the edge of the aluminum, like modern shaving cream and soda cans. the one from the original movie used a 1990's can, which didnt have the curve. the original can design seen in the film also had a more bulbous and short white semi-circle below the top, under the cap. they must have used a modern day can and slapped the label on it. which means it breaks the continuity as it should be the same can, meaning a huge tied up loose end becomes a movie mistake creating a theoretical plothole.

The can might be referenced in Dominion in a similar manner as the Lost Ark of the Covenant was shown in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Perhaps Dodgson might have one on a shelf behind his desk in his office. Speculating even further, perhaps back in 1993 he had a "Plan B" involving another can in the event that Nedry failed (Not unlike the "Site B" that "suddenly appeared" for the sequel to the original film

Some of you are forgetting that there’s the alternate ending to the Telltale game where Nima chooses to get the can instead of saving Jess and she gets eaten by Rexy possibly the can was dropped somewhere on the ground. I really hope that S5 doesn’t say how they got the can cause then the Telltale game could still count in the canon but with the alternate (sad) ending. Edit: (Spoilers to Camp Cretaceous s5) After watching S5 my speculation still stands! Except for Nima dropping the can while getting eaten. And after the game Rexy probably took a shit, and just like the satellite phone in JP3 the Can was inside it, and over time it would decompose and over the years it would be buried in the sand by natural causes left to rust. Now if that’s not an explanation then I don’t know what is. Until the DPG or Universal says something otherwise I’m still sticking with this theory. #JurassicParkTheGame

Honestly, if the can was actually useful in the story BioSyn would already have had their own dinosaurs even before Fallen Kingdom. Why keep it a secret for all these years if they had been actually successful? The way I have perceived it, the cryo can was originally meant to be an incentive for people to return to Nublar after the first Park incident and may have led to subsequent installments with dinosaurs running around the mainland akin to San Diego and Dominion if The Lost World had not been made. Instead what we got was two movies on Sorna and later a reboot with the World films that deal with their own storyline. It’s a safe bet that the Gillette can is just a visual memberberry by now.

If the retrieval team did get the embryos from the shaving can, Jurassic Park was in chaos like the T-Rex, the Velociraptors and maybe Dilophosaurus roaming the Park at the time. If DNA preserved in amber would be good after 65 million years, I think DNA in that can would be good after 25 years. The real question is, why would BioSyn need it when there are dinosaurs on the mainland? I assumed that the events of Fallen Kingdom are what made them "open source" as Colin put it - having BioSyn have the can on top of it seems a little redundant.

My only hope is that they somehow find a way not to interfere with the plot of Jurassic Park: The Game. I like to consider it canon (given that its lore status is debatable and up for interpretation) and I don't want that to be ruined.

Yeah. The Barbasol Can appeared briefly in the latest Camp Cretaceous trailer and if the animation show is still in the canon then the return of the can is not just a theory. But the bigger question is, how have the can and embryos survived all these years?
