You will love those high windows in the garage. It will bring in a lot of natural light. Glad you went with the wood boiler. Looks like you are doing radiant heat also, wish I would have done that with my house.

The side elevation with the 8 big windows looks amazing. The front elevation with the window placement seems way unbalanced looking to me. That's just my opinion. I've built 4 houses in my lifetime, all for us. Since house one I've been a stickler for a balanced look. It's just one of those quirky things about me. To each their own though, if you're happy, that's all that counts. I do like your exterior color choice a lot. It looks really cool. What's the latest on the project, are you finished yet? BTW, I also love how you have the building placed way on the highest point on your property. The runoff will never be an issue for y'all. How about an update John?

You built a proper driveway? You could have bought a dozer, and pushed your cars/trucks in and out like the old days 🤪 House is looking great, you could set up a tent and just about live there now. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Hey buddy, I know this was a few months ago but I have a question: why didn't you put windows in the garage doors? Cost or just what ever
@MrDaniel31053 жыл бұрын
Looks good it's nice to see that someone builts a house from the outside in because they don't down here. I like the windows up high in the garage it might help on lighting in the garage in the day

Looks great. I actually really like the black looks very modern and will never look dirty like the white would have eventually. When you pour the porch you should have it stamped with barnwood concrete stamp. Comming along nicely!

Looking good , I would not have high ceilings, to me it makes the place cold, and you get more rooms for your space without them.

👍👍👍👍 I thought you traded in that chevy for a F150 or a F250 because of the issue it was giving you, maybe I heard wrong, anyway happy new year to you and your family.

Nice to see you, John. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and the family. That F&J is not a mistake, it is a feature- call it pin striping and nobody will think twice. Is it going to be two stories where all the bedrooms are going? Thanks for the videos, have a good one.

Yes it’s going to be two story where the bedrooms are. Thanks for watching! Merry Christmas and happy new year!

Yea it will. There is natural gas that runs along the lake so I’m going to contact them about that after the holidays. Thanks for watching!!

It's all looking good. How many bedrooms and bathrooms are there? I lost track of the count. Also, would you say this is maybe two times the size of your current house? And, how is your tile work going? Is there a big demand for it now? Thanks for the update watching from New Hampshire.
@ThatChipperGuy3 жыл бұрын
There is 5 bedrooms and 3 baths. Yes it’s prolly twice as big as the current house. Tile work is going good so far!

As a builder and spray foam installer, the roof being put on purlins will come back to haunt you for the rest of that buildings life. The roof will condensate terribly and drip down on your insulation ruining your drywall ceiling. The only option you have now is closed cell spray foam installed directly on the bottom of the metal roofing to prevent the condensation. The unfortunate part is there is no closed cell foam available in the United States right now or the near future. Another option is the roof absolutely has to come off and have plywood or osb installed on purlins and then reinstall the roof. I am saying all this from an extreme amount of experience as a roofer and builder of 30 years. You will regret it for ever if you don’t do one of the above two options. I’ve watched your chipper videos for years.
@ThatChipperGuy3 жыл бұрын
Common man!!! Really!!!???!! As a builder you should already know what’s on there! Maybe you have never heard of drip stop. The siding on the roof is different than the walls. So it will not have any condensation. Also who said I was doing drywall…..yeah no drywall going up. Thanks for watching
@jjeanes22143 жыл бұрын
Did you consider solar when building? Just wondering cost compared to having the electric run out there.
@ThatChipperGuy3 жыл бұрын
We really didn’t look into it.
@jjeanes22143 жыл бұрын
@@ThatChipperGuy thank you for the reply. I’ve always wondered the upfront cost difference and didn’t know if you looked into it or not. I figure the upfront cost is a lot higher just because of the battery’s, panels, and controller. In the long run I just wonder if you make the cost back quickly or over the years. Thanks again for the reply, house is looking great. Happiest New Year to you and your family.

Great video, do you have in floor heat? Are the doors and windows installed correctly doesn't look like there's any jack studs?
@Mikes_Repair3 жыл бұрын
Yeah no Jack studs that I see. . . . . I don't think inspector is going to like that, especially that Gable. There's allot of weight hanging there
@ThatChipperGuy3 жыл бұрын
We shall see guys. The poles hold the weight of the building. Yes there is infloor heat. Thanks for watching
