"Worst day logging ever"... Hey man, all your people went home alive with all their body parts. There's an awful lot of loggers out there who's worst day didn't end nearly as well. It sucks that your equipment got damaged but congratulations on having a pretty good worst day. Thanks for posting this. You help people out too by showing good decision making. First impulse "I can fix this" - deeper thought and consideration says, "I should probably get some expert help". Again, kudos.

I am glad no one got hurt. But I bet that operator had to dig some seat cushion out of his hind parts when he got home. What a ride! I hope you get another machine, by the time you put the money in that one you will find it would have been cheaper to find one ready to go. And you will still have an old loader/ slasher.

The 2 skidders was a good idea BUT that's EXACTLY what rotators are made for. Nobody was seriously hurt and metal can be bent back. Just cover the turbo exhaust and it might be a good thing to think about running an air line so you could use the brakes on the carrier. Pump it up off the grinder compressor so you could put a little drag on the down hill grades. Might work. Just go get GOOMER HUGGED and remember how yall are BLESSED tomorrow. GBWYall from Us Tarheels! And Bobby Goodson has a NEW one!

Them old barkos. Were top heavy for sure. I remember back in 90 's. Pulling. Stumpjumpers just down normal roads. Behind the road horse. And damm think would make nervous it would rock and tip all over the place. Never mind on icy hill towing with grapple. That. Sucks.
@lewiemcneely91436 жыл бұрын
@m9 ovich True and maybe not. I've got a pal in Tenn. that has a 70 ton that re-rails cars. They're amazing. I thought one might be because of where the loader was with a compound lift but maybe not.

a little bit of oil makes a big mess. I saw some bent parts but no leaking motor oil or coolant. Exhaust stack. Cast Iron is cantankerous to weld even if the parts got found in the ditch. But thats a good excuse to look in the cold iron pile to see if there is a spare in the back row . Good thing you chose to video going the other direction. might have been a short bumpy ride a different kind of leaking fluids in the cab

@super69546 жыл бұрын
The best part of that deal was luckily nobody was killed or badly hurt . Those guys on the wreckers were real good to get that out. That frames going to take some real work to twist back, you've got to go way past straight the opposite way to even get it to sit right. Then kind of de stress it so it don't gradually creep back, or just start again building a new frame. With the issues she's had recently and now this major accident, I'd be thinking Insurance if it's covered and bye bye . They might write it off depending how much it would cost to fix it right for an old machine anyway. It's not funny this happening, but Jewish lightening came up last week to get rid of it, maybe the lord does work in mysterious ways after all. Maybe Mike could get the phone number from Wade where he got the feller buncher from, that was a nice looking machine he drove past in the yard on the way to look at his . Thanks for the video hopefully you and the crew stay safe the rest of the week, after this.

I’ve never flipped one but the last job I had my equipment on I was riding in a 240b tigercat across an amateur built pipe crossing. It had a curve to it and my ex skidded man who was also the one who built it dragged me across it and almost threw me into the river. I had one tire still on the bridge which is what kept me from going in. Then when I pulled out of the same job it almost turned the machine and my Mack truck over. That’s when we fired that guy.

So how did the skider and slasher go of the road
@89nissancrawler6 жыл бұрын
That was ice they were scraping off the road with the skidder. Loader pushed the skidder down the hill. In the split second that usually happens, the driver is just along for the ride. If you get incredibly lucky, you can grab another gear and speed up. I’ve never ran a skidder, but I doubt that’s happening with one of them.
