The Barn Move

We have been working on this project for going on two years. It was quite the challenge to get it cleaned out and ready to be moved. In the interim we started to work with Practical Farmers of Iowa who awarded us a grant to get the building moved so we can start utilizing it as a pack house this summer for our market garden. The area the barn is being moved on already has water and electricity close by so it worked out well. We just needed to find a licensed contractor to move it... then finally we received a call and the rest his history!
Welcome to Mad Acre Farms! We have a 4 acre property in the lovely state of Iowa. We have a 3/4 acre market garden working on expanding each year. We are adding greenhouses to help extend our season. We also started a CSA membership for our farm while participating in our community farmer's markets. The goal is to be a sustainable farm. We also have goats and are utilizing rotational grazing methods, along with chickens, peacocks, ducks, geese, dogs, rabbits and cats! The property we purchased in 2020 much like most homesteads requires some work, it also was an Extreme Home Makeover property. The ultimate vision is to turn this property into an agritourism destination! We have two historical barns that we are built into the vision of restoration! We have lots of plans for this property and don't mind sharing them!
