@@deborahelliott8460if you have cans that don’t have pull tabs you had better add a can opener. These people have lost EVERYTHING. THEIR HOME, their loved ones, their animals, they have no clothes, no bed, no bedding, no toothbrush, no vehicle so most have no way to cook. Some lost less but cannot get out because roads are gone or covered with down trees or bridges are gone. I wish I could tell you where to take things but maybe you can get in touch with a church in your area that is gathering up food and other items to take. Maybe youcould donate to a charity like Samaritans Purse. They are actually headquartered in Boone NC, I believe. They were the first people to get help to the people with food, water, diapers, baby wipes and many other items to these people on day 2. Samaritans Purse cuts trees to get them offthe roads, cleaning homes, takes off wet sheet rock so the house can dry out without mold. If you have any money no matter how small or how large it will not be wasted by Samaritans Purse. Food and other items are getting to them now. Walmart just sent 47 semi trucks in a convoy from Arkansas to North Carolina. I pray for each family and their loved ones. I have cried for them too. It is so heartbreaking. Hope you havea blessed day.

It makes me sick that I have paid over 100,000 in property tax not to mention sales tax and income tax and gas taxes and utility taxes, and the places I buy from pay taxes and so on, but the federal government took tax money to be used to support in an emergency and while it’s housed illegal immigrants it’s not being given to actual Americans so they can “build back better.” So sick of the lies and thankful to see the resilience of the real Americans helping each other out knowing the lying government is of no real help in how they spend OUR money from the taxes we paid. 😩

My heart is so broken for everyone and everywhere Helene affected. All of you people who are hands on are heros and I pray 100 fold blessings on your life. How I wished I was physically able to come and help and was financially able to give above and beyond my means . I live in Alabama and in 93 my home was destroyed by a tornado but thank God my family and I were at church and our furnishings survived also we had insurance. But I've never witnessed anything like the devastating aftermath of this hurricane that y'all are enduring. Just know there are many many wonderful people down here praying for all that have been affected. God bless you all.

Love love love this! We saw the exact same thing with Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas when my family's tiny little island was completely wrecked. The government completely dropped the ball and volunteers came to the rescue and set to feed and help them get back on their feet. Grass roots and community efforts are best!!!

I have watched a number of these rescue videos and what impresses me the most is the organization and leadership. With all the resources and manpower with the volunteers and donations from all directions there has to be the few who step up and design and implement how it is all going to come in and how it is all going to go out.
