Excellent research. There is a 1950 movie with Vincent Price of this topic. Both are fascinating with different info. Not sure about movie authenticity.

Not really. There is a Peralta land grant that's real. It encompasses most of what is now the East Bay in the San Francisco Bay Area. It dates back to the 1820s. In the 1850s there was a court battle over it. It was an expensive piece of real estate even in those days. Maybe that's where the idea to name the grant the "Peralta land grant" originally came from.
