Marie an Italian American mother played by Doris a Jewish American mother stands for mothers and mothers in law ALL over the world. The writing and acting are superb and this will be funny in 50 years time. Sign of a true classic. Bravo.

The scene where she tells Ray she's pregnant is so hard to watch. Marie's not letting them have their moment is always so upsetting. I know it's just a show but the character is based on the producers mother that means a person like this and other people like her exist in the world.

Marie is a nightmare! If I were Debra I would tell her how I felt about her everytime she spoke! And, no visiting without calling first and I always keep my doors locked.

@@JacquelineKirley-b5o a show with a character based on an actual person. But I’ll be sure to find that chill pill and take it. If you’ll take some reading lessons and some “how not to restate what’s already been said” lessons, because I said in my initial post “I know it’s just a show.” But still I’ll realize I’m watching “just a show” if you’ll realize you’re watching a recreation of an actual event and then realize I said that’s why it was hard for me to watch already. Just a genius!

One of the reasons i love this show is that marie is so much like my mother in-law. Many of the things marie has said and done to Debra has happened to me. It's therapeutic to watch this show

I love it when Marie slaps Ray for Debra. Then slaps him again. Then they both look at him like , "Oh yeah, you insensitive...." I also enjoy when the 3 girls get together. Amy's facial expressions when she first was getting to know the Barones is so hilarious because it's all true! Then when Debra says "I was the one who was nice," and she and Marie get into a "nice" fight. The show needs to be revived. I vote that to replace (no, i know she's irreplaceable). Marie and Frank, they get Lisa Kidrow as the next-door neighbor, and she could be like a know it all but lovable friend to everyone. ..Ray, Debra, Robert, and Amy. The kids are grown, and guess what? Live next door also. Robert and Amy also had kids, and their grown, and yes live in the neighborhood. Just a thought. I believe all the writers and the creator /producer of the show are still alive and well. All the cast, except Frank and Marie are all well and could do it.

You MUST remember, THIS to Joni Lamb is about money. Deathly fearing a loss of ministry revenue and since she is surrounded by big payroll, family and friends on payroll her lavish lifestyle is threatened. Another You Tube said it is a HOUSE OF CARDS. It surely appears as so.
