I did say I would take a different day trip (Although this one did cause a little headache) but not to Crewe! This time I find myself up in the peaks in Barrow Hill a village spurred off from Chesterfield! Dubbed the Barrow Hill Roundhouse a rather amusing heritage museum displaying all sorts of locomotives for display and is one of the mini bases for HNRC.
To put it into perspective you will be seeing:
- Various steam and shunters
- Carriages
- Locomotives (A lot)
- & The DPS Shed where the Deltics are displayed
Plenty of old locos on sight including some undergoing heavy work and some just stabled across the yards.
