Gaetan Lepine was tending bar at the Maple Leaf Tavern in Timmins, Ontario when a tall, skinny drifter walked in with a guitar. Lepine offered him a beer for a song, and the legend of Stompin' Tom Connors was born. The two men became lifelong friends and collaborators. Gaetan Lepine tells the tale of that fateful night, and tells us more about the man he called his "buddy."
