That is so useful! I am going to take a week to check this out. I tried to find this information at Cubase but nothing there to help. Thank you so much for this marvellous work.

Another great walk through, I really wish that Cubase would show the waveform change as you time stretch an audio clip in the track view, this is something that's always been available in reason. When stretching in cubase the waveform doesn't show change until you've finished dragging, so for instance when trying to line up an unknown tempo accapella it's literally hit and miss until you're somewhere close. Also for anyone like me that usually works snapped to grids, holding ctrl whilst dragging a marker (ie hit points / events ) will temporarily disable snapping, this has saved me so many back and forth clicks or toggling of the grid and forgetting to re enable it.

Yup, Cubase definitely has its fair share of clunky interface features!

Why would warp audio not appear in inspector? Thanks!!
@danserogermusic1049 ай бұрын
Would have been curious to know if the next step would be to use "Flatten Realtime Processing" or the "Bounce" function? Or just leave it like it is in realtime and perform the mixdown without further processing? Is there a difference in audio quality between Flatten Realtime Processing and Bounce? Thanks again Anthony, you're the best for "let's have a look under the hood' type Cubase vids!!

Hi Anthony. Thanks for this video. I have a question related to the next step operation. I've noticed in my audiotracks that the shape of the audio track changes after time correction if you bounce it. In some case, a note changes from a peak of -2.5 db to a peak of -1 db. Do you know why is that and how to avoid it?
@OneManAndHisSongs7 ай бұрын
I've never observed that behaviour. The only thing that comes to mind is that you have event-based volume control (such as fades) that are being converted into raw audio - that would change the peak level. The point is that operations performed on the event are NON-destructive, but when you execute a bounce you're 'baking in' those changes to the underlying audio.

I keep getting a message from Cubase that I can't do audio warping because tempo track is switched off. Is there a simple way to get over this weird hurdle or is it a basic setting that I have missed? Many thanks, Mark
@OneManAndHisSongs22 күн бұрын
Weird, I've not seen that message. The tempo track can be activated from the transport bar (it's immediately to the left of the project tempo), perhaps it's just as simple as activating it there.

@@OneManAndHisSongs Thanks Anthony - spot on. I had to make a tempo track, make sure it was set to the song tempo, turn on the tempo track as you described, and then adjust the drop in tempo at b.10 which confused me for a bit until I found that a tempo change to 120 bpm was on the tempo track at b.10, and then all played in sync at 140.4 bpm. Now I am going to watch your description of free warp a few times and try to move an errant bass note a bit closer to the grid. It is painstaking, but strangely rewarding. I guess, once you get used to the sequence of moves, the process becomes easier.

Your vids are great. Very chill. How would you undo all the audio quantization down the line? (ie. when a simple undo won't work)
@OneManAndHisSongs8 ай бұрын
Thanks! It was very remiss of me not to point these features out, but there are "Reset" options on all the edit windows (the VariAudio page has multiple levels of options in the "Functions" dropdown). You can even remove all the hitpoints that form the basis of the quantizing from the Hitpoints page.
