The gaffer in me is praising this video. Very thorough!

I'm glad nobody has responded yet saying I called something the wrong name or wrong purpose haha I tried my hardest to keep it simple to understand for those students not yet into the film sets so when they get there they have an easier transition.

I currently go to full sail for film and I'm excited to start filming movies since I have quite a few short film scripts but I'm also nervous about learning about all the other tools besides a camera and the lights.

Incredibleee! You're already ahead of many of your peers, trust! My recommendation for you is to make a short 2-3 page script, 1 location, 2 actors.. and shoot your own production with fellow peers. Make sure to do at least a month of preproduction, story board, shot list, call sheet, props, lighting, camera, research everything from colors to fabrics. Make it as intentional as possible.. the idea is to shoot a short film that is powerful and has good dialogue, that conveys what you exactly want to your audience. Keep it simple. keep it stupid. Take your time. Prioritize working with a team, setting up meetings, and delegating tasks. Without them you can't be a better YOU.. don't try to do it alone ever cause you'll get overwhelmed. After you shoot it... post it! receive criticism and move on to the next one! remember who you enjoyed working with and work with them again, try working with new people, try new positions, try a new style.. and boom you will slowly discover yourself and your vision will blossom! When you keep doing this for a few months... write a longer script and submit it to a film festival. repeat. Learn and Learn some more! Nothing to be nervous about, trust the process, trust God, and have FUN! Most importantly DO IT because you LOVE to.. not because you have to! :) Keep me update too friend!

@@anotherfilmer Thanks so much I actually have a couple 2-3 pages scripts that I recently wrote that I want to try out but only problem is I don't have a camera so I kinda want to find out how to do some with my phone.
