There times where you want to dual-boot your computer with another Operating System, like Windows 7 along with Windows XP. Well, to do this, you may be thinking that you'll need another external HDD to install it in. Sometimes you'd also need a spare HDD to backup your data. Well, you don't. With the help of Partitioning in Windows Vista and 7, you're able to divide and create a separate disk volume to help your dual-boot installation or just create another volume as your backup-purpose drive

@ViceCityBoy92 Most likely no... Because if it is USB connected... 1. It is gonna be slow... 2. It might not work 3. Partitioning a USB device is risky... You can install only small OS'es in USB devices... (like DamnSmallLinux and very old windows and Mac OsX systems.)

Can anyone do a vid on how to get mac os x onto a disk and then how to put it on a partition then how to boot it. I'm a noob so all steps included.

I can create the unallocated drive but when i try to activate it this error pops up: “you can not create a new volume in allocated space because the disc already contains the maximum number of partition”. Apart from this drive i have 3 other drives. 1 hidden recovery partition and 2 drives for 2 different OS (Windows 7 & Ubuntu 12.04 LTS). I just wanted to create the new drive as a Share drive to run on both OS. Please assist.
