If a bus stop has more than 100 people waiting, it would be better to consider other transit options or add new express lines, as it entirely exceeds bus' capacity, and indicates that a part of the transit flow isn't enough for the transit needs. For example, it seems that the over-populated bus stops are at the either side of the middle part of the city - between cavehole park/old main street and riverside zonings. I assume that indicates cims' wish to travel *across* this region, from riverside to cavehole and vice versa - currently there isn't anyway public transit routes connect directly these two parts of the city, cims will be forced to transfer from metros to buses/other buses, and populated in one or two transfer stations. Also, riverside has lots of high-density residentials, while cavehold park has a strip of commercials near it, cims would have the demand to go shopping/visiting the park here, and transfer to metros on the curved main road isn't shortest for them. I would suggest that have a bus route or pedestrian/bicycle "highway" connect directly from riverside to cavehole park, to satisfied the transit needs between these two areas.

A comprehensive network of elevated pathways - a true trademark of T4rget’s design... :D It’s unbelievable how much it can reduce the traffic in C:S. Since I saw those in your earlier videos I always spread my streets by 11 instead of 10 blocks and place pathways from the very beginning. Thanks for this inspiration.

I always make sure to have pathways to my "pedestrian highways" that connect at every bus stop. The people love to make that transfer between modes. I also like to turn on the "encourage cycling" policy to get more people out of their cars; bicyclists can use the pathways with pedestrians so that takes care of two modes right there.

Hello Target! Another great video. I really enjoyed how you conect the industrial area with the rest of city. In industrial areas, buses are more than enough to handle with the demand. Trams are so expensive to a very little demand. Maybe, it's time to upgrade the main avenue to 3 lanes or give one more conection to each side, because in your layout, everyone in the residential areas are been forced to use the same intersection. The arterial road can't have a lot of intersections, I know, but can't have less than necessary.

32:20 I don't know how it will work in the future, but in vanilla two lanes roads with tram tracks, tramways share the lanes with other vehicles ; they only have dedicated lanes in the large avenues. It also mean that tramays at stop completely block vehicles in there lanes. I never finded a good sub-transport for the industrial zones. It seem the better way is using multiple metro stations (if possible) and creating a lot of pathways and bike path (bikes are moving slowly on normal pathways and won't use them for a long distance, so building "bikes highway" in the pathway network is suitable). Its also a good investment to convert some key industrilal roads in roads with bikes.

Hi M4yor ! much work, very amazed ! a true beauty. I'm just still a bit bugged by the outcoming/incoming of the"not-a-roundabout" industry train access. Trucks leaving the station have to drive all trhe way around (dependinf their destination) and meet those coming in the "not-a-roundabout" XD the one way access should be inversed if any more dense traffic would have to develop there

T4rget, I think that metros are the most efficient ways of transport in the game but my viewpoint is they are dead boring. Maybe using a monorail instead will be more interesting to watch around the high density risings. PS: The tram rails you placed also acts as a pedestrian pathway. Just a suggestion the second metro line why follow the curve of the city why not build overground all the way the the university :-) and industry and for fast connections build a train station at the university so there is a slow metro and a fast option :-) The next thing if you look at your city at 6:35 you habe the half island on the left of new tadema. Build a cable car to the other half island 🌴 all the way to the university\ If you build a tourist district with beaches the trolly bus looks great for that . Another thing I would suggest build a couple of taxi stands across the city :-) An mostly as you are having water along the city build the ferry’s :-) I would use the quarry’s starting where the highway 🛣 is going all the way along the waiter line to the of your current city boarders. This is also the place for a trolly 🚎. So what I would do is use the ferry as a fast connection so one stop where the highway is another one where your to main roads cross another one on the pointy end of your half island and the last one near the university. The trolly bus 🚎 is following the line but with much more stops. Ah if I could get my hands on your save game I would build it any chance you could upload your save game at some point on steam ?

Oh, you demolished half of your buildings to build pathways! I can't imagine this for my city

What would be helpful to traffic is to make pathways above ground so that people don’t use crosswalks and make cars stop.

Seems like you placed the bus routes kind of randomly and in some areas they overlap with metro lines. That is the reason why you have so many passengers at some bus stops. Chances are that a lot of people will use buses to travel the same distance that they are supposed to travel with metro. That is not very productive.

Hello, many thanks for the helpful video. Just purchased the game a couple weeks ago and wanted to be sure I understood things properly. One huge problem though: money is always an issue and I can't help but notice that every tutorial video I watch shows massive amounts of money despite a still modest population. I'm quite far from those figures. Where does most of your income come from? It is far more difficult to set up a proper transport infrastructure without the necessary funds.

It would be nice if you have a public transport connection to the campus
