If Saturn’s rings were scaled down to Earth scale the thickness would range from about 1 to 100 metres. I don’t know where you buy your paper.
@BlenderTimer Жыл бұрын
I calculated something wrong. I did 10 meters for the height but I did the edge of the rings in total, not the edge of the visible rings (which is what was shown on screen). I also think I must have gotten something else wrong because even calculating with the information I gave above I still only come to 4mm. So who knows what other mistakes I made in my calculation. Needless to say, this was over a year ago and I try to quadruple+ check my math now to make sure I don't get anything wrong.😂

7:45 Sorry, this can't be correct. Outer ring has diameter of 960.000 km. If you scale it down to earth (factor 75), and compared to thickness of paper (0,1 mm), the original rings would only be 3 inches thick.
@BlenderTimer7 ай бұрын
This is half correct. Based on data I got from NASA, portions of the rings would be thinner than paper, however, I failed to notice when making the video that it was only portions of the rings that would be thinner (I thought it was the whole of the rings that would be thinner).

I think I understand better why people suggest we're not alone in our universe, thinking thoroughly, one could see some sense to it, even though I am quite religious. It still baffles me. Why create a whole galaxy, a whole solar system and we're the only ones with life? It's comparable to creating Earth and putting just 1 person inside it without companionship.
