Honestly. Had the MM: Maverick Hunter X series continued, I would’ve loved to have seen this dude come back and have a Larger role.

Since he never returned after X6 I always kind of assumed that he'd succumbed to the effects of the virus and either died or become some kind of mindless zombie. Some of his dialogue around collecting the nightmare souls made him seem like he was no longer a cool mercenary and had devolved into a something of a junkie. The state of the world is kind of apocalyptic at that point so that always made sense to me anyway.

Dynamo was definitely added to DiVE cause of fan hype. He was requested for ages. Sure, he had no real part in the DiVE story mode but he was just there as pure fanservice with the fact he breaks the 4th wall.

The Maverick Hunters acting like this guy was a nuisance made me feel the same way. I actually wanted to ignore his fights, and focus on the task at hand.

I always saw Dynamo's design as a cross between Bass and Zero. Your editing is getting better and better! So happy to see that. Thanks for being my unofficial rival as decided by me without telling you, probably. Also, X5 Dynamo is Vile mk-III ans X6 Dynamo is Vile mk-IV. That or theyre gonna star in a buddy cop adventure together, whatever sounds more fun

Criminals are also considered mavericks. Being infected by a virus or having a malfunction is not necessary to be labeled a maverick.

There are cases of improper labeling for sure. Colonel is a prime example. On the flip side, Red Alert was acting illegally, yet they were not considered mavericks(till Sigma stepped in), rather vigilante criminals. Not all criminals are mavericks, but all mavericks are criminals.

Dynamo is a weird case. I love the idea of a coolheaded mercenary and a 'rival' that can actually stay around instead of dying in their debut game, so Dynamo really clicks for me...but, well, can't have a rival if they don't show up xD. I honestly think he could be a good nemesis for Axl given Axl's past as a merc himself and similar kinda immature, yet very capable, nature.

I hope we get MMX9 in the future. I heard four-five years ago that they'd be making it if MM11 and/or the MMXLC sold well, then 11 became the second best selling Mega Man game, and the X Legacy Collections together sold even better, yet there's been no further news on X9.

In the background of Shield Sheldon's extra boss room, there's a figure that looks a lot like Dynamo. I guess he learned Soul Body in between X5 and X6.

Lower dynamos in okay character he serves no purpose and only acts as a distraction from the focus of the plot he even says so himself when you fight him

Bro unleashed apocalypse for 30 coins. And about Vile, I always said he should have been kept for X4, would have been legendary. X3 story is kind of a beta of X4, so many of its story elements could have been done so well for X4's storytelling, the ambiance of X4 really sets up a "Sigma is back to his X1 best" dark vibe.

They botched him imo. He's supposed to be a shrewd guy as he knows when to retreat but all he turned into was a pest who bothered the heroes and ran away repeatedly. As x called out on him, he's just really good at running away. I too, believe he was done a disservice in xdive. They didn't understand his cowboy aesthetics and only gave him those wierd blade weapons for his skills. They completely ignored his revolver buster, his most defining trait.

I loved fighting Dynamo between X5 and X6, bro knows how to throw down with the Maverick Hunters, it would have been nice to have seen in other entries, like X8, Battle Network, etc.? Heck, it would have been an amusing discovery if he was referenced in later games. His theme goes so hard, I used to listen to his theme for hours while studying in College, among other OSTs in the X series. Still a shame that he didn't get a proper story in DiVE aside "hur hur, I'll fight Player-san in Erato's stead." Great video as always!

Dynamo is probably my 3rd favorite X series characters. I remember when X6 came out and thought "That's the annoying guy from X5."

The Dynamo/Dante comparison is spot on! Would love to see an X6 remake, where he's playable and can make new weapons and gain new techniques with a certain amount of nightmare souls collected!

Dynamo is likely post-war army in design, as they are often could treated as antagonistic in a good number of older westerns, either at war with the native tribes or throwing their weight around when passing through different towns.

If X5 was to be the end of the series as some people wanted it to be Dynamo would be another plot thread left unfinished(he still is) as he's never been destroyed and is still out there. Vile was blown up 3 times now you can always have the excuse he's dead for real now, but Dynamo gets away and doesn't even allude to changing his ways and if he's as skilled as he seems he'd survive all the way to the zero series which doesn't even acknowledge him or Vile. Why would you leave that character at large if you have no intention of doing anything with him further? While writing this i just randomly noticed something, how does Vile come back even once? If i understand dna soul right, dead reploids can't be brought back not as the same person at least, is this a starscream's ghost scenario? Is he joined to the hip with the sigma virus?

Nah, he's not jointly connected to Sigma. In X3 Doppler brought him back, and in X8 we can only assume Sigma did. Reviving a reploid doesn't seem to be hard, but it is illegal after a certain point. After all, Cain tried to revive Zero. It seems that as long as the control chip - the brain - is recovered or reploid DNA, one can be revived. There is other cases of revivals, such as the Nightmare Investigators. Just to give examples, Sheldon took himseld out, Yammark crashed, Alia assassinated Wolfang and Dungbeetle.

I always thought Dynamo's theme sounded like Street Fighter music, maybe it's because I was playing a lot of Alpha 3 around the time this game came out, but honestly it would fit well in the context of a fighting game stage

love in the archie comics he gets wrecked by the street fighter characters finally getting karma. had maverick hunter x continued they really could have done more with as compared to dante fully backing up his wise guy persona dynamo felt like he could've been replaced with vile with how x5 was to be the final game & felt like he could've been more with how he's why the eurasia was crashing instead of a glorified mini-boss. instead of sigma would've loved him being in x7 manipulating red alert with vile as the secret final boss as with how x7 had the undertone of reploid mafia's/gangs taking advantage of the world healing from the eurasia/nightmare incidents nearly wrecking it.(the one thing i liked in x7's story that would've benefited having human antagonist as well.)

Ph yeah this Beatiful bastard, I remember when i fight Against Him the First time, at First i was thinking "He caused all this" the game was in English and i couldn't understand that, So when he came up i was like "Am gonna fucking destroy you" And as a 5 Year old i fight....and he almost destroy me the first time because i was Full Berserk against Bosses and i was like "OH NO, HE CAN REFLECT MY ATTACKS, HAVE A BOOMERANG, JUMP AND ATTACK LIKE ME AM DOOM!!!"

Wannabe Dante might be the best way to describe him ngl coz unlike Dante who ultimately has a heart of loving and caring, he's just a selfish bastard who has no honor and runs away everytime. But at the same time it's because of exactly that he's always able to live to fight another day, In which case he's more like Hol Horse from jjba rather than Dante. He's an outlaw and does whatever he see fit, unlike other mavericks who usually have a strong reason for fighting so I think that's why ppl like him I'd always like to think that he even worked with Red Alert at some point but got bored of their vigilantism bs after a while so he dipped, that's why Red had to recruit Axl instead. And in X8 he could be collecting copy chips all over the world to get stronger just like what he did with nightmare souls in X6. I'd very much like to see him make a comeback, maybe even let the hunters hire him as a temporary ally to deal with some tough tasks just so we could hear his side of the story. But it's likely to be another thing Inafune's planning on taking it to the grave along with X9

A Maverick is a reploid criminal. How they become one depends on the situation. Most are glitches or viral Mavericks, some are standard criminals like those goons Axl dealt with in X7, some get called political Mavericks despite actually committing serious crimes (Repliforce committed insubordination while also leading everyone to believe they committed a massive atrocity before committing actual atrocities during the war, the Giga City Rebels ethically cleansed its human population by forced displacement and that's not even touching all the horrible stuff like torturing POWs and planning to spread a chemical WMD on half the planet that would have likely caused the equivalent of the Elf Wars of the Command Mission timeline) and some genuinely are political Mavericks like the Zero era Resistance.
