Your PIN POINT casts are a treat to behold.......took me about a week to achieve that kind of perfection when I was 16, during a 6-week Conservation Camp in northern WI. If you fish every day w/the same gear, such ability is w/in one's grasp. Then 5 1/2 years later, about 7,000 miles west of here, I witnessed that same expertise demonstrated by my fellow Marines using an M-79 grenade launcher. Basically a hand-held mortar, the M-79 is an indirect-fire weapon. Which means although there IS an adjustable sight on the weapon, the sight's function is for "estimated" distance, ie. elevation only. However, to be proficient in his duty, the grenadier must accurately gauge/estimate that distance....which is only acquired over time....& analogous to bait casting.
