Sounds too cynical to me. Sure there are people like that but most people aren’t completely self interested but rather wants the common good, but they differ in their views on have to achieve that common good. Maybe I am biased because I live in one of the least corrupt countries in the world according to corruption reports. I might have a very different experience in another country. Also I spent a lot of time studying the parties in the last election but I do agree that most people don’t do that. However I still don’t think most voters vote purely on selfish reasons as it a lot about ideology and what they think is best for the country. Again I am a bit biased since my country has a very high trust in politicians compared to most.
