I'm still amazed at how they not only gave us a fresh take, but also gave us the most accurate portrayal of the source material yet. It's hard to even find the words to describe it. It felt like reading a batman comic without doing the dumb comic panel visuals. They really captured the essence of what makes Batman such a cool IP, without repeating things that have been done to death.

I love how you see the same buildings in the skyline from different angles in several different places. In just about every shot from a Gotham street you can see some tower that also pokes up somewhere else; it’s that attention to detail that makes the city feel real and tangible.

I keep hearing alot of people complain about how Selina missed aiming for Falcone. but I've watched it over 10 times now and it has only reaffirmed my initial thought that I think it's extremely obvious that Bruce was cutting into the power lines and the lights cut out right as she shot which made her miss. And she handled a gun very well in a previous scene but I know from experience that just because you can quickly field strip a weapon does not necessarily mean you can fire it properly. I doubt Selina has ever killed

This movie made me a Batman fan. I’ve consumed a lot of DC media involving Batman, but never really cared about him in any movie he was in, but from the very opening I fell in love with the moody atmosphere of Gotham and Batman’s character. I loved the movie so much that went and played the entire Arkham trilogy and watched hours of KZbin videos on Batman lore

you mentioned that the 44 below reminded you of the iceberg lounge from fox's 'gotham', and I actually have a theory that Matt Reeves watched a lot of gotham before or even while writing the script for th movie... There are a lot of similarities to the first few seasons of the show, for example oz not wanting to be called penguin, matt reeves saying bruce and selina were childhood friends, and even the riddle the joker says at the end of the movie (the one about friends) is one of the riddles ed says in i think season 2 of the show!

A plot point I have for the second movie may be a stretch that nobody has mentioned yet. The kid from the subway gang in the beginning of the movie with his face half painted is Jason Todd. His mother died and he had a troubled childhood and got involved with the wrong crowd. Just like in the movie Under The Red Hood, he his caught attempting to steal the tires off the batmobile. He was committing crimes etc and had a very bad temper, and didn’t care what other people thought of his actions. He just needs to get the job done no matter the costs to survive without his mother in the picture anymore. This could go the same way emotionally as Batman may see him again doing something and may reach out to him as he recognizes him when Bruce was in the same position as Jason, he didn’t care the costs and was full of rage and anger over the death of his parents. As he finds out the kid has a troubled past related to him. This could be a strong relationship in the second movie where you have an Angry Robin, who is scarred permanently from his moms death, maybe how Reeves wants to reiterate his moms death in an interesting way. This would be a grounded Robin, from the bottom of the iceberg of Gotham as a troubled youth. Recognized by Batman. And later is taken under his wing as his own son (a.k.a. Robin)
@MarkianK002 жыл бұрын
I can’t see that kid playing Jason at all he barely even knew what he was doing with the gang

I like the idea of the drops being created by the scarecrow. Maybe more Johnathan Crane is creating them but somehow manages to induce them himself. This forces him to accept a childhood fear and become one with the scarecrow, Batman is then forced to look into a break in at arkham asylum. Where scarecrow has taken inmates for testing on a new toxin in his arsenal, fear gas. But while Batman is chasing after the scarecrow and the missing inmates, a breakout is about to take place in arkham asylum. This could lead to another film.

I think there’s 2 ways the sequel could go, a hush/Court Of Owls focused movie with a few smaller rogue gallery villains like Croc, or Mr Freeze & Scarecrow. Either way all of these should be included at some point in this Batman trilogy/saga.
@darnfrick33542 жыл бұрын
Could you imagine if drops "transport" the user (so to speak) into the fear realm which Scarecrow inhabits? Imagine Scarecrow being fear itself to a large demographic of the city? Drug induced psychosis does have some crazy shared hallucinatory effects in real life. They could do so much with this and it would really be a stab to Batman's pride when he mastered fear while someone else literally is the fear. Like obviously not that dissimilar from Scarecrow we know but instead done in that "grounded in realism" way. Could be good psychological horror that has you questioning what's real and what's not. You could even introduce Mad hatter at the same time and drive home the whacky side of Gotham in a creepy realistic way

If the Batcave were really like in the photos it would be toxic from all the bat guano, I wonder how Bruce solved that issue 🤔 The seawalls surrounding Gotham were all breeched by the vans Riddler parked all around the city so all of Gotham was flooded but some parts of the city sit higher than others so the water pooled in the city center. The film was just visually stunning and it’s just starting, imagine by film three

The color scheme for this movie should’ve been green instead of red tbh, would’ve fit better if they make the next movie blue for freeze or purple for joker or whatever the case may be .
@immersivecomics16032 жыл бұрын
The red was to represent Bruce’s rage and vengeance. That’s why it’s so loud and overpowering in scenes at the start of the film until finally he harnesses it and focuses it. The red flare at the end of the move represents that rage focused into a beacon of light to help others

I really don’t want more of the joker and am starting to find his character annoying. I hope he doesn’t come back at least for a few years in a film. Two Face, Scarecrow, Riddler, Penguin all need to to shine as Batman’s arch rivals. Also villains like Killer Croc ( suicide squad doesn’t count ), Fire Fly, Lady Shiva, The Terrible Trio, Rupert Thorne, Mad Hatter, Calendar Man, Professor Pyg and Man Bat have yet to appear on screen at the movies.
@jimbobway58882 жыл бұрын
fax i think scarecrow and pyg would be far better then joker for the time being or maybe black mask
@Harlequeer2 жыл бұрын
Whenever I see comments like these I wonder if you guys are just reaching. Because joker hasn't fought Batman on screen since dark knight. And Reeves already said he wants freeze for the sequel. Also, we have gotten a live killer croc. Just wasn't a great one. We've gotten a scarecrow and two-face too. Where you've been? Lol But besides that alot of the villains you mentioned wouldn't fit in this universe. Manbat is literally a mutant bat, killer croc was a guy with a skin disorder but got retconned into a mutant crocodile man, lady Shiva's a ninja, and Rupert Thorne is just irrelevant. 💀
@WickerSticksSinema2 жыл бұрын
@@Harlequeer lol if they can do mr. Freeze I’m pretty sure they can do croc. I’m aware we haven’t had a Batman v joker film on the big screen in a while but the joker has been on the big screen more than any other Batman villain, now 8 times ( 1966, 1989, MOTP, TDK, Suicide squad, Lego, Snyder cut, now this. We’ve only seen on theatrical version of two face twice and scarecrow once. As far as Lady Shiva and Rupert Thorne being irrelevant… How? Pretty sure Ninjas and master assassins exist in the wreak world as well as drug peddling crime lords. Same with the other villains I mentioned. The only exception I’ll give you is man bat because he is a bit fantastical.
