I usually don't by Omnibus books because they're very expensive but I'm actually interested in buying this one, it looks like it's got some great stories! Also, I thought I'd mention I actually have the Poison Ivy story you mentioned, but it was sandwiched in a copy of the comic version of Mad Love, with a few other stories by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm. I just thought that was kinda interesting.

So whenever I read any other comics, I need to read them outloud to essentially give a voice to the character, or otherwise I have trouble getting into the read. A few years ago I had a throat issue and this essentially kept me from being able to read. However I found that the voices and inflections of the DCAU versions of the characters are so built into my head that I was able to read through these comics at the time as I was instantly able to hear the voice actors working their magic.

1:35: Perhaps this should be put for a "DCAU Lost Tales" alongside stuff like "The Bet", Annual 1's Prologue , Events 2 and 4 and Epilogue from "Adventures in the DC Universe", and maybe even the Black & White "Case Study". As a rule, anything written by Paul Dini here should easily fit in the animated canon, so issues 1-2, issue 3, issue 8, Annual 1, and issue 17 are pretty much essential. 6:00: The panels here in "Two-Timer: Part II" can remind one of Batman searching for the Joker in The Killing Joke comics, and also the search for Robin in the Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker movie flashbacks years later. 6:14: Animated canon loose end tied up in side material, folks. 6:35: In other words, we nearly got this as a movie instead of Mask of the Phantasm. 7:32: You should see redheaded General Hardcastle in Superman Adventures. If only there was a really good Robin doppelganger in issue 6 - "Round Robin" though. TV Tropes really made that a "They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character/Plot". 8:37: By gar, everytime I see Wesker's hurt hand, it's like I too have been hurt by the moment. Now that's good art and storytelling! 9:29: And they're also really good original tales as well. Contemporaries like X-Men Adventures and Spider-Man Adventures fail in that regard for being adaptations to their respective TV series at most. Word of advice to new readers, issues 9 and 10 are a loose two-parter. Alas, issue 11, and by extension The Batman Adventures 1992 issue 21, are most likely retconned away and deemed non-canon, since Kirk Langstrom is A-OK up till Gotham Adventures issue 18. I can say this: Bane becomes more sympathetic here and in Gotham Adventures, in some degree. 10:42: And then whatever happened in Batman Adventures 2003 follows suit. Oh, when do we see how it went in the end, Ty Templeton? Hey, you skipped issue 14. I like that story. Ah, yes, issue 15 and Gotham Adventures issue 5 sure explain Deadman before his animated appearance in JLU's "Dead Reckoning". Good stuff. 13:37: I actually like this tale. You just have to read Superman Adventures Annual 1 and the aforementioned Adventures in the DC Universe Annual 1... yes, it's a full blown crossover nexus event that depends lots of fellow side material. In short, 13:05 reveals that Zatara actually was assisting a young Clark Kent on an anti-demon op of sorts, and Clark's lucky he was helped out by Doctor Fate (yes, that was his first meeting with the magical superhero; oh, and Fate also helps out Clark's future self Superman against the self-same demon a few chrono moments later) and also a time displaced Scott Free, who then was assisted by his future Mister Miracle self, and as an aside, Zatanna and the Hypnotist get closure by way of an encounter with split-personality vigilante Rose & Thorn. *Confused?* Issue 24 is gutsy, I'll say, on its stance on covert interventionism. Meanwhile, issue 25 sure foreshadows the lengths of which Ra's al Ghul will do so to achieve his dream (hence, the offscreen Near-Apocalypse of '09), while the appearance of a UFO bears into mind Batman encountering increasingly outlandish things that shall be way out of his league come, heh, Justice League+Unlimited. If I have a say, as a guy who actually finished this comic series a while back individually, issues 7, 17, and 23 can be deemed as broad strokes canon (there are details that are incompatible with the DCAU, like Scarface saying "b's" instead of "g's"), while issues 16 and 19, featuring radically different takes on Thomas Blake/Catman and Helena Bertinelli/Huntress respectively, are non-canon due to TNBA and JLU lore contradictions (though one can argue that 19 may fit *somewhat* in The Adventures Continue 'verse). Hmm, you're right, why put SubZero AFTER The Lost Years... oh, whatever, a reader can just skip to it and then continue to SZ afterwards. Meantime, the movie was supposed to come out on July 15, 1997, but the reactions on the Batman & Robin movie changed things.
