For those who do not know, this Batman is Earth One Batman. He did not travel out of Gotham City. Alfred in this universe was a bodyguard and a elite soldier so he taught everything he knows to Bruce. That's why he's so violent and kind of unprofessional. Plus this is his second year as Batman.

With a few inspirations being lifted from that comic for this movies Batman supposedly anyway as they have sighted Batman year one, Batman ego and Batman the long halloween as the main inspirations for the movie but not earth one directly so far as I know

they’re sourcing from Year 2 Batman. Matt Reeves said this is not a origin story, this is his early days of how he is Batman, where he hasn’t mastered his fear and himself. He hasn’t perfected the Batman that we see and love today. There will be times where he would be lost and he would fail and make mistakes but he grows from it. This is also gonna show a true Batman where he is actually gonna do detective work. Robert Pattinsons Batman will grow into the perfect Batman we all know and love. Robert Pattinson fits the Batman and Bruce Wayne role and I love it!

For example in the trailer Batman gets shot point-blank range the more seasoned more experienced an older version of Batman he's smarter he's wiser he knows what he needs to do but he also is reserved and knows when and when not to engage and how to deal with certain situations especially to avoid being shot by blank because of how dangerous it is But we're going to start seeing a very young adult version of Batman growing up learning the ways of being the bat basically sanding down the rough edges sharpening his skills not only his physical skills but his mental prowess as well thus trying to become the world's greatest detective I'm a huge DC lore fan I've read most of the comics definitely see the long Halloween Vibes off of this definite year one aspects of it as well. this movie has me more than just intrigued this movie got me pumped up, and I truly hope the keep the direction that they're going and hopefully make ribs are a definite threat but obviously there's more than just going to be more to the movie then just what meets the eye conspiracies and deeper entanglement of other things in the movie such as the court of owls for example as we've been hearing is going to be a big part in the movie. but hopefully 2021 will get here fast and so will the day of release for this movie and hopefully get to see it in theaters as well but anyway not a bad reaction it's always good to be skeptical and reserved, but to be honest nobody trusts Robert Pattinson for this role because the sparkly vampire in many people's eyes was not the big bad bat but hopefully this little T's at least changed a lot of people's minds which it did mine

Love the younger more brutal less technologically advanced Batman. It’s highly inspired by the Zero Year Batman comic along with Year 2 I believe really shows in his Outfit and vehicles a more put together look rather than the more advanced stuff we see in the modern Batman Media. Fun detail this movie to my knowledge at least is mostly filmed in Edinburgh, London and Glasgow which is the perfect location for Gotham

I am definitely blown away. Pattinson is a great, talented actor. I haven't liked a lot of the actual films he's been in, but he's still very talented. Also, they're FINALLY making Batman a detective, which he's *supposed* to be "the world's greatest detective" but they never really leaned on that much in recent iterations. And the tone and visual style of this movie looks a lot like the original 1989 Batman as well, just much, MUCH more "turned up". I love all of it.

Maybe it helps following what Reeves has said both in the past and at the DC fandome, he's basically a huge Batman nerd and loves the comics. First it's 100 percent the Riddler, it's also Paul Dano. All you have to do is look at a picture of the man and you can see it (Take it from the only Riddler cosplayer you guys know, I'm completely on board for this lol) Second, this is a year 2 Batman so Bruce is still absolutely new to this. Both his relationship with Gordon and the GCPD are very fresh and the GCPD still has a lot of corruption in it, hence why it feels so tense at some of those moments. Third, like I said Reeves is a huge Batman nerd he's taking inspiration from a lot of places from Darwyn Cooke's stuff to Paul Dini to Jeph Loeb he's going full Edgar Wright on this. I kinda like the voice. I didn't care for Bale's take on it, just about the only thing that really detracted from the Nolanverse for me... Seems like this will have a whole host of villains, some hints to Maroni (the mafia boss who scars Harvey Dent), the thugs seem like (maybe early) Joker acolytes, or maybe someone more obscure like Deacon Blackfire... Catwoman, Penguin, and apparently Riddler, although that guy who seemingly kills Alfred with the duct tape is very likely Hush, who might be posing as Riddler, to distract Batman long enough to subsume his identity and catch him unawares... strange that they would show him so blatantly though, if that's the twist...

That's not Alfred, looking at the newspapers at the beginning (during the crime scene) it's Don Falcone or one of his guys. The director has spoken about how it's going to be a lot about corruption and Batman's connection to it. Very detective heavy.

The idea being that Wayne's family were looped into the organisation - specifically referencing the end of the trailer and Bruce's complicitness being revealed by Riddler. I can totally see why Hush would be the real villain, looking at the bandages. But I think that's a misdirection.
