I used to be retired from the game but I came back around a year ago and SO MANY THINGS have changed, the game is worth playing again. Aku realms, behemoths, ZL, UL finished along with new legend units like Luza, Naala, Doron, ultra talents, "egg" units, many new stages and stuff to grind. The game is even more fun and the meta is alot different. Of course this all depends on when you stopped playing though.

Zero legends is kinda like pvz2 modern day where we have the timeline being split open and having harder enemies from different periods and different worlds coming towards the battle field and the mixture of classic to otherworldly to Asian to electronic pop to some orchestra with outer space influence and then back to normal Similar to pvz2 modern day where it's the classic theme but mixes aspects of the other worlds music styles for an otherworldly effect plus both of these have hard difficulty curving and prove to be a challenge with the gimmicks it throws

@@MAJJASTAK I’d assume they’re hopping between other branched or parallel timelines of the world itself instead of going back to the roots of time. They already conquered the Earth’s present and future, took over space and time on the current universe. Heck, they even defended the world from imminent destruction by invading another realm. The cats went back in time far enough just to rescue the legends and then got told that there was an ancient god (not a cat) out there, though it wasn’t there at the last stage of UL meaning it is somewhere else other than here. Though you’re probably right about them making every single thing a cat. Surely something of this calibre is probably capable of creating some continuity error which is probably why the music sounds so familiar yet so off putting because something is truly off but you can’t seem to put your finger on it as to why it is. For example, Filibuster and Cat God, we all know and are familiar with but… why are they even there again? I mean, sometime later in UL, there’s a subchapter called Spacetime Distortion which brought familiar foes from earlier but not sure why they are there in the first place. I’m not sure if that correlates to whatever happened with the empress and her obtaining the curse grimoire, but maybe because of the spacetime distortion was she able to get a hold of the book in the first place. This led her to do experiments while possessed, which somehow weakened the barrier to the Aku realms and the rest is history I guess. Ok, I must hold myself back from writing any more baseless theories. I’m not entirely sure why I get excited over some lore for funny cat game but I do. For a game to make me overthink like this, it’s probably one of the reasons why I keep playing. Sorry if it’s too long.

I think they're just trying to emulate that "core of the earth" feel by having a whole ecosystem and anomalies everywhere, but also the origin of certain ancient beings ( lil white cyclones being there, red sleipnir maybe soon in the chapters too, which is a sleipnir that's ALIVE btw compared to the regular one) Btw most ennemy traits have no meaning in the canon story, we just know that in the present, Akus tried to invade the cat world when the cat empress accidentally opened the portal, nothing more, and then they (the cats) used their time machine to go to the UL times, and, you know, alien ennemies, supposedly from the future, ARE in UL and LZ, like Filibuster, despite starred aliens being canonically distant future ennemies, and more soon...
