This is an after action report on a fantasy wargame played in the setting of Halfland. More information about Halfland, its peoples, and their history, can be found in the Annals of Halfland, a series of videos that can also be found on this channel.

Looks like you’ve been busy painting! Nice to see more of these battle reports. I’ve missed them.

Really cool! Reminds me of playing lego or crossbows and catapults as a kid, reading history books and flicking through old fantasy wargaming magazines. Has a sense of authenticity to it by not being over laboured or produced. Can’t wait to see more!

Amen to that. I'm all in favour of a creative hobby, rather than one where there is an endless supply of perfect looking scenery and accessories.(if you haven't cut conical tempates out of card, you haven't lived!)

The orcs have a look of the unstoppable about them! Nice trees. Mine wouldn't be in keeping with your scenery, but ive just finished sime satisfying forest pieces made from craft shop (the Works) pom poms. Very imposing for smaller scales.

Trees are tricky. I am reluctant to spend a fortune on ready made ones, but I am also reluctant to spend a lot of time on crafting my own. The trees are therefore my compromise between being relatively easy to make, and looking vaguely presentable, and I'm glad that you like them. Your comment also inspired me to look at the Works website. I can see how pom pom trees might work, and they stock some other stuff that might come in handy. I draw the line at buying a bag of rocks though!

@@jamesathertonyt that would be weird, and dare I say too 'realistic' I use shreds of bath sponge, glued to a base and roughened and hardened by sand and PVA. It's reasonable job. (Sand was a mix of a container full from a discarded sandbag, and finer grains which becomes detached from bugdies' sandpaper. Enterprising? Stingy? You decide.)
