Always a real pleasure to fly over your gorgeous battlefields (love the swamps and village), spectacular and superb 10mm armies/scale!!

Just finished reading the magazine and the algorithm on the phone brought me to the video. 10mm figures looking good on the battle mat.

What a great game set-up from Pete and Jerry. 10mm is definitely the solution for this battle. Great minis again from Pendraken!!

Great video, many thanks. Bloodiest battle ever fought in Ireland. great insights from the visit to the site - very interesting. Note to the interviewer though, it's pronounced 'OCK-rim'.

Really just starting to get into historical games after decades in 28mm fantasy. It's not just the scale but basing that would allow the armies to be played across multiple rule sets. Be nice if a simple guide to starting out and how the bases and rules for various periods can be combined/simplified.

You are in luck if you play Ancients as there are probably only two “standards”. The biggest puts multiple figures on a 60mm wide base for 25/28mm and a 40mm wide base for 15mm figures. There is a subset of 28mm which uses a different basing standard serviced from Warhammer. [And if you play more skirmish level games then basing 28mm figures on 25mm round bases is pretty common]

Did you differentiate units with flintlocks/matchlocks?

this was really great and lovely, thanks!

I like the logic of the scale being influenced entirely by the actual size of the battlefield and the frontage of units. That is something missing from a lot of presentation games which may look lovely but, actually, don't reflect realistic ground scales or units in any way. Lovely minis too.

Excellent. The only spoiler for me is the choice of rules, though I appreciate that BP is useful if you have limited time in which to fight this battle. It's the 'loosey goosey' movement rules that spoil it. The lads hint at it when they mention that once the reserves are committed you shouldnt be able to simply recall or redirect them. Beneath the Lily Banners is the rule set that best represents warfare in this period although it is a bit slower.

Wow, 10 mm looks amazing. I've always felt 6 mm was a bit too small for me.

Bit of a long shot, but what’s the base sizes for the infantry?

I'm a fan of 10mm for many, if not all, of the reasons mentioned by the guys. Great spectacle! 👍 [ p.s. What amazes me is how some people can paint so well (I'm envious) but can't do what is seemingly far easier - straighten a miniature musket (which, unfortunately, I am better at). 🤔😂 ]

Hooray for Pete and Jerry from the Friends of General Haig! They scrub up quite well, don’t they? 😆. Lovely game chaps 👍
