I've been playing this song since I learned it, shortly after it was released. I had read the trilogy of the Master Tolkien, after I was turned toward it by a special friend. I've been playing it for 30 years, at least, and I shall never stop playing it, as long as I live. Long Live the MIGHTY ZEPP. ,and thank the Cozmos for Page, Plant, and the classical training of JOHN PAUL JONES. Bonham was the driving heartbeat, and all others, stand back,, and watch it happen . They have done So many things that no single person, much less a band could have ever done solo. I feel these are blessings for future audiences. They just don't know it yet. Stand in Awe,Listen with appreciation, learn from the composition, And the message thru so many beautiful voices. We ,together, are more powerful than anything the darkness could array against the greater good, as I live and breathe. HSNIII. PEACE

A person who does not know Led Zeppelin would never guess that this comes from a rock and roll band. And that's why LZ is amazing. It's like drawing a line crossing all the music.

A lot of Zeppelin has a folk like quality so hearing it performed by a choir isn't such a stretch
@alexkx8599
@alexkx8599 Жыл бұрын
@@jeremyhoward4437 Well...it IS folk as far as I'm concerned. Most people would call them a heavy metal group...and there is no question they did that genre...and with their connections to the blues...but you want to know how I properly identify Zeppelin in my mind? As a heavy psychedelic folk group. I think when you, I, we, and people look at (er, listen) to their songs you will see (again listen and find) that this more accurately sums up their catalogue than any other way, form, or fashion! Far out, huh?! I have SOOO much to say about this, that, and or it too! RAWK! 😁

I often think this song is what sets Led Zeppelin apart from other bands. Although they have many masterpieces this one is a masterpiece onto itself and stands along as a shining example of the band’s brilliance. “ The Battle Of Evermore" The Queen of Light took her bow And then she turned to go The Prince of Peace embraced the gloom And walked the night alone Oh, dance in the dark of night Sing to the morning light The dark Lord rides in force tonight And time will tell us all Oh, throw down your plow and hoe Rest not to lock your homes Side by side we wait the might Of the darkest of them all I hear the horses' thunder down in the valley below I'm waiting for the angels of Avalon, waiting for the eastern glow The apples of the valley hold the seeds of happiness The ground is rich from tender care Repay, do not forget, no, no Dance in the dark of night Sing to the morning light The apples turn to brown and black The tyrant's face is red Oh war is the common cry Pick up your swords and fly The sky is filled with good and bad That mortals never know Oh, well, the night is long, the beads of time pass slow Tired eyes on the sunrise, waiting for the eastern glow The pain of war cannot exceed the woe of aftermath The drums will shake the castle wall The Ringwraiths ride in black, ride on Sing as you raise your bow (Ride on) Shoot straighter than before No comfort has the fire at night That lights the face so cold Oh dance in the dark of night Sing to the morning light The magic runes are writ in gold to bring the balance back Bring it back At last the sun is shining The clouds of blue roll by With flames from the dragon of darkness The sunlight blinds his eyes Bring it back, bring it back, bring it back, bring it back Bring it back, bring it back, bring it back, bring it back Oh now oh now oh now oh, oh now oh now oh now Bring it back, bring it back, bring it back, bring it back Oh now oh now oh now oh, oh now oh now oh now Bring it bring it bring it bring it Bring it bring it bring it bring it Bring it bring it bring it bring it

This was absolutely fantastic ! Im a huge Led Zeppelin fan and edit their Wiki pages - this blew me away. Look for the live version of this by Led Zeppelin from Maryland - May 28th, 1977 - John Bonham sang the town crier part together with John Paul Jones - it's a fantastic version.
