Just an update: A hotfix just dropped, including fixes to potentially the audio issues I mentioned in this video and a FOV slider which will improve the experience drastically. From my observations the devs seem very open to feedback. What they wrote precisely about fixes: Added FOV Slider to Gameplay Settings (sorry about that) Added native Fullscreen Display Mode Added option to completely turn off Upscaling Added option to minimize Head Bobbing Adjusted default options to reduce blurriness on large monitors Environment is now re-randomized every time “Retry Mission” is selected Fixed loud audio stuttering when Windows had Spatial Audio turned on Fixed bug causing permanent Incapacitation from some explosions Fixed bug causing “Start Sighted” option to be ignored for some clients 9 other crash and compatibility bug fixes They commonly send updates like this on their twitter: twitter.com/SixDaysGame

From what I've been told by people that were actually there, early on in the Iraq war the insurgents were completely incompetent. Early on most of our troops were driving around in unarmored humvees which was completely fine because if you drove over 30mph no one would be able to hit you. The insurgents would often set the elevation on their irons to the highest possible number because they thought it would do more damage.

Uuhh no its not lol I bought it today and the AI was the dumbest Ai I have dealt with. Once they fix it I will play but honestly, ready or not,Arma 3, new arma, squad, hell let loose, insurgency, even zero hour has better AI and plenty other milsims games have better AI than this game. I started the game and played against AI just standing in the open and picked them off. When I started the game the AI was shooting just randomly never got picked off, they just stood there and shot whenever at nothing so yeah lol

@bagobones9891 Insurgency AI is just as bad, but I can have fun with them, its just fun to mow them down or go rambo lol insurgency is not that big in my eyes as far as milsim games go. It gets a lot of people started, though. And that AI is dumb as hell, too. This AI is equivalent, if not worse, in my eyes. It feels easy. I played a good minute, and the KZbin videos seem better than what I played. It's still great and a fun game. The execution is amazing. The feel is great. All I'm saying is that AI isn't what I expected, I hate myself with ready or not AI, and i struggle in that game solo and with friends when you turn up the difficulty even with mods..that's what i expected this to be if not harder right off the bat. But it's still early access, and I still have high hopes. I have been waiting for a long time, so I'm not giving up on it. I waited a long time for it like i said and I expected more for how long it took and the price tag, lol

To add to your comment on AI being unpolished is actually what a lot of Iraq War veterans say they did. some combatants would be stealthy and take pop shots from an enclosed location while some would literally run wild with AKs not fearing death to just put rounds down range.

I absolutely hated it cause one house would be non combatants while the next was setting you up to get ambushed using NC's as human shields. Saw a young Marine so focused on moving up to the second level he caught a round in the throat through the widow that came from the adjacent structure. It's so crazy that the "minaret sniper" was actually a real event. Photographer was in a group and requested a photo of the sniper to send back in order to make a point of how bad the war has gotten (the team lead reluctantly agreed after first declining). While clearing the minaret, two marines were scaling the stairs, the first didn't notice and he walked into a barrel. The insurgent shot, killing the first, and the second marine engaged, ending the threat before retreating back downstairs. It took a while to go back up and retrieve the body of the fallen marine, but they did it before falling back. This happened right at the "end" of a day of intense firefighting across the city-- hence why the photographer wanted to take the picture. The photographer left the country immediately after and has made good with the family of the fallen soldier. There's a documentary covering this entire event. Edit: The documentary is PBS Frontline: Once upon a time in Iraq, Fallujah.

This may seem real to most people, because the graphics and the visual and audio representation is good. It’s nothing like it, though. First, when someone gets hit, it’s usually pretty serious, and that throws a wrench in things right there. You gotta do first aid, but that guy is probably out of the fight, and you gotta evacuate him. Second, you may clear a bunch of empty houses for a long time, expecting something around the corner, and nothings there. When it does happen, it surprises the hell out of you, and you’re never ready for that. It makes you jumpy as hell. And, when the shooting starts, it it lasts a lot longer, just at one place, because nobody really wants to die. Also, you’re covered from head to toe in long clothing, heavy gear, and uncomfortable shit, with earplugs in, so everything is muffled, and the loudest thing you can hear is your own breath and your pulse, banging against your helmet liner, which is baking your head like an oven. The highs and lows of adrenaline kicking in and wearing off repeatedly, saps your energy like a draining bath tub. Climbing one flight of stairs while pie-ing around the stairwell is physically exhausting. It would feel real if there was a physical simulator treadmill sort of thing, with the heat turned up in your room, and a piss and shit air freshener blowing at you, and you clear rooms for hours and then shoot one guy, and if he shoots you, the game is automatically over. But it’s just a game, and nobody would play if it was like that.

@MrSofazocker
@MrSofazocker 10 ай бұрын
@@macdaddymario Well..... that would work if the APC is static or part of the map, and the plants wouldn't be placed already, or placed after the APC is placed. Or you could have cull area around the APC. You are suggesting here however that the vegetation is getting spawned at runtime, which is most often isn't. Game like Ghost of Tsushima are a great example of using compute shaders for that, for runtime procedural generation, but it's still uncommon. The only real option would be clipping planes. So things that clip, don't show on the other side. Similar how you make guns, or bodies not clip through the wall if you are right against it. Basically, a shader boolean. It would still only work client-side, and takes massive amounts of resources. Same as driving the whole vegetation system with a compute shader. @TUFFGUNN Also, "Creating collision boundaries for every plant or vegetation in a game would create a lag to unbearable heights." No, that's usualy done, and the deformation is only happening in a shader, at the vertex level. Nothing too expensive there. But doesn't get rid of the clipping issues however, it's far too inaccurate. Until we meet again.

I am personally very hopeful that Six Days in Fallujah is the first in a "new" genre of games revolving around historical storytelling through video games. Six Days in Fallujah does one thing exceptionally well in my view and that is the portrayal of chaos and uncertainty in close quarters combat. The fact that the buildings are randomized is fantastic because it helps drive home that you are fighting in an actual city where not every building is identical. In general I just really hope more games like these are developed and released for the public to play and get that 10% extra understanding for what it was like to be in that battle and the mindset associated with that.

"Civilians have no idea what we want, and what we want is games like this." Pathic that you'd want to re-enact the illegal invasion of a sovereign state that killed hundreds of thousand of Iraqi civilians.

I hope there will be a way to bring your rear sight up into a proper sight picture. I understand looking over the top for close quarters so the protective wings don't block peripheral, but when they're shooting more than 10m it drives me nuts that the rounds aren't going right over the target's head

The sound design is awesome. Echo and sound tunnels are some of the most realistic sounds ever in videogames. You cannot hear the direction of gunfire behind walls because sound bounces of walls so cool

Watching this compared to earlier footage I've seen, there's more improvement in such a short time span. The healing animation was redone. I saw no lighting bugs that plagued earlier builds. Enemies fall down in a less clunky way (can't say the same about their weapons yet). Good feedback has really been pushing this game in the right direction, and the devs seem eager to listen. Really hoping the full release of the game 1. actually arrives, and 2. comes out as a refined experience.

Whats amazing about this game is everytime you die or restart the map changes. Every building every room, every floor layout, door entrance etc. So you can never speed run gameplay from repetition memory. The enemy's locations and spawns also change. How every game should be. I hope this game sells millions. It has been in the works forever and would love to see all the men and women have their hardwork appreciated. The realism and respect they brought into this game to honor our men should not be overlooked. This game is now the staple of what 1st person shooters should be from all things i stated earlier. An ever changing map and enemies that also learn and adapt is magnificent. 10 out of 10

I"ve commented about this last time. Its not reverb that is causing the confusion with locating enemy positions when they fire. The gunfire is EQ-ed to sound like it comes from another/adjacent room. The game or sound engine currently just doesn't differentiate between open space walls and closed space walls/rooms.
