The Briton cav seems OP. They shouldn't be able to destroy legions with cav that didn't exit imo.

@@PopeJohnPaulwe have chariots ported over and working. These earlier releases just had cavalry. In most cases however chariots were dying out and were pro dominantly used for ceremonial purposes later on. Britain cav isn’t OP in my eyes.. a soldier in heavy armour carrying a heavy shield with a sword that’s 2/3 the length of his own arm vs a mounted horseman with a spear? I know who’s coming out on top and it’s not going to be the man with the small sword.

Also CIB is based around team based play. Commanders need to choose their armies wisely in CIB. You either spend all your money on large heavy infantry units but then you sacrifice your ability to bring auxiliary troops which were easily the most important part of any legion. What makes the legion system in CIB so important is each legions different auxiliary units. No legion has the same auxiliary, each has its own strengths and weaknesses. The 9th had a vast array of cavalry to honour its Spanish origins, however it lacks much needed spear infantry and missile based troops. VII is a balanced legion which has a variety of units but doesn’t have one particular area where its strength is focused. The VIII legion in CIB for further examples is a siege based legion so its army is built around sieges so elite infantry for taking walks and artillery, the only legion with artillery might I add. The legion system is there to make diversity and stop rome being OP because in reality Rome had little to no issues conquering the Brits and only had a handful of occasions where they did face challenges. CIB is also recommended to be played on large funds.

@@PopeJohnPaul Actually didn't, from what I found only time Caesar's army was beat back frontally in Briton was during first invasion when Britons ambushed a legion. Then the following assualt to Roman's camp wat beat back and Caesar managed to retreat organised after beating back Britions. The second invasion was a overwhelming Caesar's victory in frontal engagement, Britons can only slow down the Roman advance using guerilla tactic, but not beat them back.

Funnily enough this actually happened. Not to ceasar but in the late 370s AD British tribes marched south a forced the romans from hadrians wall and that started the 30 years collapse of the romans in britian. They were continuously pushed back till 410
