Just yesterday i started watching this series and also watched dr fawzia's podcast with daniyal sheikh , dr affia siddiqui's speech in houston about woman's rights in islam . And i am deeply shaken to my very core ,i'm unable to sleep as the thoughts of dr aafia ,her visionary personality keep my mind awake . I was 1 year old when she was kidnapped in 2003 and to think that i have experienced uncountable things in life over the past 20 years but dr aafia that mountain of a woman has only experienced one thing being trauma/torture for 20 years . Ya Allah how is our nation living like one of its treasure,honor and dignity is not being held captive by non believers. The one muslimah who spoke about woman's rights in islam with so much proud has her basic human rights being violated for 2 decades and no muslim leader has done anything for her .i feel defeated and torn i cant imagine how dr fawzia keeps on going , may Allah give her and dr aafia life and strength. Ameen. It is also important for me to mention that its never too late for us as a nation to take on personalities like dr aafia as our role model . Just imagine if every woman in pakistan is like her it would change everything that is wrong in this country to be the right.may our nation wake up to what really matters and stop trying to get themselves yassified by the west.

How much more torture a human being can go through?! She has lost her kids, lost her family, and lost her home. What a gem of a person she is who has been left to rot in prison, just because they couldn't deal with her crystal clear understanding of religion and her enchanting spirit which led others towards the same. Even if she has lost pretty much everything in this world, I am quite sure that her sufferings in this transient world would never match the reward that Allah SWT will bestow upon her in the hereafter and that's what all of us should be mindful of. And even in this world, they have caged her but her spirit still continues to inspire those who are heedful.

This man is an amazing and professional lawyer with a very practical approach of things. He is not giving hopes that Aafia can be released, he is not claiming things like huge changes in political scenarios and state institutes being shamed when she returns. Instead he gave a practical view of what can be done that is better than her current situation. I applaud him but, unfortunately, as the gentleman said and argued, it need the involvement of Pakistani government and problem is, NO GOVERNMENT IN PAKISTAN HAD EVER CLAIMED AFIA FROM US. I absoutley LOOOOVE Clive Stafford Smith, one of the Top Gs when it comes to Human Rights, his book the 8 o'clock ferry is a Must read! he talks about how he and other Barristers had to Imply the Iguana law to get the rights of Prisoners. I had the privileged of meeting Mozam Begg whilst in University. I have also read his book "The combatantan, again another Must read for anyone who wants to really understand what has been going on. Theres a film that Mozam Begg spoke about called " A taxi to the other-side" which is a real eye opener. I'm currently studying Law as a mature student and I hope one day inshallah that I get the chance to work with CSM, I hope inshallah.

Coz Pakistani govt knows the truth.... Only some ignorant public has kept their eyes closed and think Afia is the angel which she clearly isn't. It's better for her to stay in her adopted country aka US or where her association is with Taliban in Afghanistan. We don't need her in our country.

Even if what you said is true, it still does justify her being kept in another country. Even if she is to be imprisoned (which isn't the case) that should happen in Pakistan. She is a Pakistani citizen.

@@sketchionic6356 but the crimes she committed were in US. US investigated her many times while she was there then she fled US and FBI gave all proofs against her to govt of Pakistan which nabbed and handed her over to US. BTW she is US resident with green card too. When we could hand over Raymond Davis types to US who killed couple of guys in broad daylight why we could keep her here while the proves were irrefutable and Pakistan had no choice anyway.
